J&J never got a fair shake comparatively against the mrna vaccines. Dealt with other variants during its trial. Plus I had just as much protection 6-8 weeks after J&J that MRNA vaccine holders had 2 weeks after last shot.
It's a slow build of protection.

I got the J nJ had no problems....other than the evil second head that I grew. But, I can tell you that back in May when I got it, I had to search far and wide. CVS did not have it and neither did Walgreens in my area ( St. Tammany) my wife and kids were only offered Pfizer at Walgreens and my brother had trouble finding it as well.

I live 20 minutes outside of San Antonio and only one HEB in the entire metro area had the J&J vaccine when I got it 10 days ago. I had to drive 50 miles to the opposite end of the city, but I got it.
I'm active duty military so I was forced to get it even though I had the Wu Flu last December.
ETA: Just ran a search through HEB's website based on my zip code and the only pharmacy offering the J&J shot is 277.8 miles away in Brownsville, TX.

CVS pharmacies only carries one vaccine type per location per their FAQ:

Then last month they said they were phasing out the J&J vaccine at the majority of their retail locations: LINK, but it would still be available at CVS MinuteClinics. I don't seem to be able to search for MinuteClinics on their site, but the MinuteClinic site specifically says they're offering J&J, just on a limited basis.

J&J and Novavax do not instruct your DNA to produce covid-19 spike proteins as do the Phizer and Moderna MRNAs.

Novavax may have the broader spectrum immune response closer to the natural immunity of having recovered from covid. 120 million Americans have recovered from covid. Many were asymptomatic or had a mild case.

They'll have a doomer story for everything. Its simply an insanely beatable virus that has been hugely blown out of proportion. It only gets iffy when you mix in these vaccines.
Keep it simple. Ive got ivermectin on the shelf. It got me through the first covid round but Im pretty sure I didn't need to take anything. High risk wife took the BAM.
Take a second and look at what Israel is experiencing. Nearly 100% inoculated nation asks they are still dropping like flies. They just can't pin it on the unvaccinated there.
But the vaccine might be good for you. There's just no true north with any of this.

Vaccine.gov shows J&J widely available in my area, then when I call the pharmacists they say that they haven't gotten a J&J shipment in "months".

Dude I know, but I will have to move in with my parents - newly single in my early 40's. I'd maybe rather be dead than do that - I haven't decided yet.
