Why don’t repubs counter abortion on the ballot with votes on boys playing girls sports?

If abortion on the ballot drives more libs to the polls, surely keeping males out of girls school sports, locker rooms, etc. would drive out more conservatives.

You honestly think that a handful of trannys in sports is comparable in how it impacts the lives of average Americans. Over a million abortions took place last year alone. How many trannys are playing sports....like less than one hundred

No, if you go to a street corner with a notepad and ask people 'Who are you voting for?' And after they answer, you ask: 'And what is the main issue for you to vote for him?'
You will not get 'Guys playing in girls sports' even if you stand out there every day 24/7 until your drop dead of old age. It's a NOTHING issue in terms of a presidential election.

I don't vote on abortion. But some people do. It's called 'single issue voters.'
There are some republicans who would vote for Biden if he banned all abortions.
There are some democrats who would vote for Trump if he banned all aid to Israel.
There are ZERO voters who will decide based on transgender sports.

The focus should be on immigration and the economy, specifically inflation.

I feel the same way. When Youngkin made an issue of what was being taught to young children he won Virginia. I still think the main issues for republicans winning is the economy and the border, but having a bill in certain states on keeping boys from playing women’s sports could help.

E.g., In an R vs D debate, the moderator will consistently ask the R:
Q: "Is there aaany circumstance everrrr when abortion should be allowed?"
R: "Rape, incest, and life of the mother."
An honest moderator would then ask the D:
Q: "Is there aaany circumstance everrrr when abortion should not be allowed?"
But instead, he asks the D to respond to the R position.
Republican POTUSes are presented as stupid. Dems as enlightened. Repubs cutting spending are stealing from the poor. Dems spreading the wealth around are doing the Lord's work, etc.
Breaking through is doable, but challenging, Rebubs are tasked to sail against the wind, while trying to beat Dems sailing with the wind
