Why do you support more war and more American involvement and death in the Middle East?

I do not. Let the Muslims kill each other, they will whether we are there or not, this way we aren't in the crossfire.

I don't. I am not a bleeding heart liberal that thinks we can fix the world with hugs and flowers and infantry.

Because it’s something that the Uni-party tells me I must support.
It’s bipartisan, so it must be good!

Is going to show up and throw some generalized diatribe about how Trump is a fool for leaving all while not even answering your question.

I say let them fight it out and whoever is still alive when they are done can decide if they want to join the 21st century or not

AMERICA is the only world power with the resources and will to intervene on behalf of those who can’t defend themselves. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do. But that’s the role we’ve always assumed. I don’t like the idea of playing big brother to every shithole that can’t do for themselves. But I do think we have an imperative to act on the behalf of those who ask for our help.

My problem is we’ve done it for years and we get less and less appreciation for it. We usually end up getting more enemies because of it. So while I still think we are obligated to be the world’s policeman, I don’t think we should participate unless we have a clear interest or benefit from participating

I can’t explain it. If I could, with all due respect, you wouldn’t understand. Global strategy and defense of American hegemony is just too complex of a topic. i haven’t spent a lifetime studying it. My limited understanding of it is relegated to an appeal to authority.

Trump has Gary Kasparov telling him to use knight to take king’s pawn. Trump says, “N’ah. I’ll castle king-side. My wisdom is unquestionable.” I’m going to guess that Trump made the wrong move. Time will tell.

Then you should criticize Trump for proposing economic sanctions, at the very least.

But y'all are eating it up.

People tend to hate others that come into their yard and bully them.

We can be a big bully in the eyes of much of the world.

I'm tired of being the unappreciated bully.

Why are we sending troops to to the ME to protect a ME Islamist aristocracy from a ME Islamist theocracy while at the same time moving a handful of troops out of the way, but not out of ME, at the behest of an Islamist autocrat in order to permit said autocrat to attack our Islamic Kurdish allies that helped us kill Islamic radicals trying to create a caliphate?

This renders many, especially stdtiger:

But this is the state of the situation folks.
