Point is citizens of the United States owned human beings that they treated like any other farm animal.
There are "slaves/families of slaves" who benefited greatly from their owners by receiving land.
Research it.

I'm not offended at all. I just think there isn't any reason to glorify a group of men that used other human beings as beast of burden. And guess what I'm not a liberal Democrat. I'm registered as independent but I vote conservative 99% of the time.I think for myself

I honestly believe that 95% of the outrage is fake and only seen because a decent sized portion of society just wants to hate on the “other team.” The outrage stems more from a hatred of white republicans than it does a love for blacks or even an understanding or care about past atrocities.
But then again, on some issues, who cares when the "outrage" started? Does it matter whether they were offended when the statues went up during the Jim Crow era or in 2015 if it's a good point?

I think we should take it a step further and have a grammaton cleric come and kill you if you have a General Lee How Wheels™
Or maybe we should stop worrying about such trivial shite one way or the other?

This is what, the hundredth thread on this?
PS - It isn't just about tearing down statues, but you and the rest of the SJWs know this.

Why do we need southern Confederate statues?
We don't.
I think many conservatives think that lib politicians waste too much time and expense on removing objects that weren't a subject of any scrutiny before they brought it up.

You're obviously offended or you wouldn't have posted in that manner.
If you want to take such a simple view of the time period go ahead but leave the monuments alone. Not everyone is offended by them and the left has an ulterior motive for wanting them removed. Please don't be a lackey for the left.

I don't worry about R.E.Lee, Stalin, or little girls facing off bull statues.
I'm more concerned with policy and the people implementing them.

So we doing away with anything related to Washington, Jefferson, and quite a few other Found Fathers too? Wouldn't want to glorify that group, correct?

Why do we “ need “ a State named Washington? Or a city ? Do you have any idea of the Incorrect views and actions of Amerigo Vespucci? Why don’t we wipe out any reference to every part of American history we now disagree with ? Why not ? How can we live with this knowledge ? Why don’t we have a History Purification League comprised of concerned citizens and give them adequate explosives to destroy anything that offends their sensibilities? Destroy! Replace ! Wipe it clean ! Resist ! Impeach ! Arrrgggggggghhhhhh!

The statues memorialized lost Americans. These men died fighting a war started by a group of self righteous team politicians that just like today would rather see people die than to find a viable political solution to a difficult problem. These dead men’s deaths should remind us all the true cost of toxic politics. Instead the true cause of their deaths are being classified as something else. These politicians foresaw a brief skirmish type war where the other side saw they were serious and quickly backed down. Instead each side dug in to their belief system and a huge segment of the country and the population were destroyed in an incredibly hideous way.
Interesting how the same toxic team politics continue to widen and keep the scars of this war festered.

So why would we want slave owner statues to remind us of their dark history
Also some of those figures worked tirelessly after the war on issues facing black people. It's not all so cut and dried. If you want to remain ignorant that's ok. There's a lot of things that I'm ignorant about that I'm comfortable not knowing. I wish I knew more about economics but I'm not interested enough to spend however long it would take to educate myself. I don't comment about economics because I don't know enough about it. That's just like you and the time period leading up to the war of northern agression. You should probably sit this one out or people will realize how much you really know about it.
