the feds can use mar a lago as ace in hole. they don't want to be first to indict ex potus.
if another case (hey fani) ends with any jail or prison term then the pressure is off this case and DoJ.
imo the clipped in bit looks like a fair assessment. just having any sci materials outside the sci is a crime.
the misappropriation of any sci materials is 20 years.

How do I know?
Because the final arbiter of what is classified and what is not already started those documents were declassified.

The people asking for their return was the government. The national archives was the part of the government that wanted them.
As you no doubt would think there are often things the national archives wants that former Presidents thinks are personal and not public do there must a mechanism.
Why yes, there is. The national archives can take civil and not criminal complaint against the former president.
And then there can be legal proceedings and the final arbiter of what is personal and what is public can make the decision.
And you likely already know who this is. The former president.

You understand he could have declassified the launch codes for nuclear misled and given them to putin and that would be legal.
He could declassify nuclear secrets and let the Chinese see them and that would be legal. Clinton did that.
This is why the former president can't be guilty of that act, because he decides what is classified or not.

They have to prove basically that he was obstructing something.
