To me, that is a weak argument. The choice isnt moral vs immoral, it is immoral with same political view vs presumed moral with opposing political view.
All are flawed. I accept that. I also sadly expect ALL politicians to be somewhat dishonest. That is a sad "truism" to me. With my premise that all are flawed, what is the lesser of evils: flawed morals or flawed politics? If they broke the law, let the law handle them. If not, i will choose to abstain from riding a high horse and vote ideology

Does not trusting Cruz make him a worse candidate for SC than a liberal that you find honest?
Many thought Bernie honest. Would he make a better prez than Cruz?

I do not use politicians as my compass for navigation.
The ignorant masses that don't have time or take time to make intelligent decisions SHOULD be able to elect people they can trust to make the decisions they want them to make.

As you know, all have sinned.
There is no perfect candidate.
The voter must decide on how important the sin/issue is to them before voting.
It usually comes down to the lesser of 2 evils.

Honesty allows you to make an informed decision. If an honest politician tells me he's a communist then I'll vote against him with confidence.
If a lying POS tells me he is a free market capitalist I'll go back to flipping a coin.

Morality should weigh heavily in politics. Do you really want someone who is willing to say and do anything to obtain and stay in power? Sounds like they are serving themselves, not their constituents.
