Why do many of the Dems on this board claim to be Libertarian?

I've been around here pretty regularly for the last 2 years and have a feel for most of the posters. If you get into a discussion with the overwhelming majority of Hillary voters/ Trump bashers, they say, "Im a libertarian that voted for Hillary, and would never got for Trump". You also hear this same people praising Gillum, Synema, Tester, etc.
Do they/ you know understand how polar opposite your views are? Are do the Dems here just vote on emotional/ social issues?

It's because they can't defend their beliefs and instead have to lie about who they are and what they believe in order to "fool you" to make their point.

I believe it seems that way because this board leans so right. If you disagree with anything Trump does then you are an Obama/Hillary lover according to here.

I can’t think of a single person on here who claims to be a libertarian but seems to actually list towards Democratic positions. Someone in mind?

That's not it. There are posters here who claim to be libertarian or moderate Rs who never seem to espouse any kind of libertarian or Republican ideals. It's the same thing Ana Navarro and Jennifer Rubin do - lie about their affiliation for credibility's sake.
