Probably because they watch the government bail out big banks and take care of rich people and wonder why can't they do the same for everyone.
Socialism is total fail but in this country we have big government safety net for the rich not the poor.

They have never had to put their arse on the line for something other than themselves - a Client, a child, a religion, a spouse. . .
Instead, they have been coddled and insulated from
any adversity or consequence for their stupid decisions. They all get trophies. They all make the team. They are all hidden from peanuts so they never develop a healthy immunity.

Young educated people aren’t having kids anymore
I loathe socialism but between indoctrination and the above reasons, I think we’re in big trouble going forward. I honestly think Trump is a stop gap before a Bernie esque nut gets into the WH. Hope I’m wrong.

When I was young I absolutely resented the notion of seniority. I hated the fact that those that were older got treated so much better and young people always was given the shite jobs and never trusted with any of the cool things.
Now I understand that a person under 30 years old is basically ignorant and void of enough experience to be given the responsibility of the truly important task. A person that is 24 thinks they are really an adult and they are so blinded by youthful arrogance that they can’t see what they don’t know.
I think this is sort of the attitude of young socialist. They want to be the head guy, the boss, the lead. They blame capitalism for holding them back. They want to be a 50 year old at 20.
I think this is somewhat possible that this has something to do with it.

The issue isn't capitalism, the issue is that capitalism has been bastardized by shite like mass immigration, cronyism and corruption. It's no surprise people are attracted to socialism after policies that have led to capitalism's corruption

Student loan debt seems to be the primary reason. Progressive politicians have promised that they will forgive their massive debt in exchange for their vote.

Student loan debt is a symptom of blue collar jobs fleeing the states, it’s a symptom of everyone getting a participation trophy, and everyone thinking they have a right to own a home, two cars, a boat and vacation when they want. Guess who instilled all that shite? Not milllenials.
