I agree. The selective enforcement of laws has been the downfall of this country.

Nice work Dale.

Thank you. You missed the point. Relating that point via a terrorist attack 16 years ago was not meant to convey the idea that the specifics of the past attack was integral to the point.

Just curious RC...what is your position on stopping the illegal aliens from continuing to flood the country? Are you for or against "the wall". If against, what would some of your suggestions be to get control of the situation?

Draconian Sanctions

When I am standing in line to buy tickets to a concert, I get pissed off when people try to cut in line to better their position. WHY? Because I'm a human being that believes in waiting your turn and not putting people out who were waiting and following the rules like the rest of the people in line.

When I am in the concert, it really makes me happy when someone gets their arse kicked out because they don't have a ticket, and didnt pay to see the show. WHY? Because it's fricked up, and they don't deserve to be there, so GTFOH....

I honestly don't care what their skin color is, or if they speak one language, or multiple languages, who their mother is, or whether they like ketchup on their hamburgers or mustard. They just need to stand in line and play by the same rules as everybody else. Call me "old school" but that's just kind of how I roll. Most NORMAL human beings can see the rational with that line of reasoning. Only semi functioning retards who identify with frick nuts take the other side.

To answer the question.

Simple. Immigration should serve the interest of the country being immigrated to.

Also. It shouldn't subvert the culture of the main being immigrated to. That's not about race, it's just smart.

It would be dumb for the Japanese to import immigrants to the point that their nation was 30% British.

What I'm asking for you is why, in your own words, your position on immigration is where it is.
I play up my squishiness here, but I'm still a pro-market radical on some issues. Trade is one of those, and that also includes labor. Haven't heard a case to rebut my considerable presumption against government action. I'm unconvinced by fiscal arguments because I think strict controls on welfare are more tractable than they are on immigration. I'm unconvinced by MUH CULTURE hyperventilating because US culture is an assimilation juggernaut.

When I grew up this view mainly rustled leftists on pro-labor grounds. I haven't changed, but who I piss off has.

I have traveled to or worked in 10 different countries. I had to have a passport or visa to travel to or work in everyone of those countries. I never recieved any benifits from those countries. I had to pay taxes if I worked in those countries. I could not stay as long as I wanted to or I could get deported or fined. I was actually detained in one country four days because my visa was expired.

In my own country I have to have a valid ID to do just about anything. If I am stopped in my car with out a drivers license I am arrested. If I don't pay taxes I am arrested and the government will take everything I own.

Why in the hell should someone here illegally get the same benifits but don't have to pay taxes or have an ID? How in the frick is that racist? Are laws now racist?

I just want out laws enforced. If you are here legally, good for you.

If you are here illegally, then you should be deported. We are a nation of laws. If you want to come here, you are welcome but do it the right way.

But Federation for American Immigration Reform spokesman Ira Mehlman said that even with legal status, many immigrants would continue to work in low-wage jobs, meaning their tax revenue wouldn't make much of a difference to the economy. Also, legalization would flood the labor market and drive down wages rather than increase them, he said.

quote:

Undocumented immigrants contribute significantly to state and local taxes, collectively paying an estimated $11.84 billion in 2012. Contributions range from less than $3.2 million in Montana with an estimated undocumented population of 6,000 to more than $3.2 billion in California, home to more than 3.1 million undocumented immigrants. Undocumented immigrants’ nationwide aver-age effective state and local tax rate (the share of income they pay in state and local taxes) in 2012 is an estimated 8 percent. To put this in perspective, the top 1 percent of taxpayers pay an average nationwide effective tax rate of just 5.4 percent.4

simply put, illegal immigrants do the jobs that no one else is willing to do, either because of the low pay or ego... without them doing those shite jobs, our economy suffers greatly... you think a bunch of white dudes are gonna be out there picking strawberry or artichokes or whatever for hours on end, at below minimum wage? frick no.... white people are "too good" for that shite.... so be grateful for those bastards doing the shite that YOU would be unwilling to do, because SOMEONE has to do it....

I would like to see them machine-gunned to the ground once they step foot across he border. I say this without regard for their race, color or creed, so, I'm totally not bigoted or racist here. Psychotically murderous, yes, but, Racist? No, it's not fair to call me that.

I'm not familiar with that name, but, all of the "Kyles" can go into the mass grave with the illegal immigrants.

I'M KIDDING!

ps I want our laws enforced. That's it. If the laws need to change, change them.

the immigration thing is a slippery slope..... i agree that they need to come in through the front door, like all the immigrants before them, but at the same time, i do realize that the ones that have come through the back door DO serve a purpose to America, whether we like it or not...

It's really not.

You are all dealing with first gen types, no different than the Irish and Italians that emigrated before, aside from legality.

And it's not like this folks were vetted, held Visas, etc. Different time sure, same place and idea, absolutely.

Here in California it's obvious that the second gen and on completely assimilate to America. It's not even a question.

There are poor, middle class, and rich second geners all around.

To act as though there is some sort of vast plan to recreate Mexico within their culture is pure ignorance.

I can think of a lot of things that are far more wasteful than educating the children of illegal immigrants who may or may not be American
