There is a big difference between internet discourse and reality.
General Elections are often effectively a 3 way choice: team red, team blue, or don’t show up at all. It is during primaries that voters get the chance to determine what shade of red or blue will be represented in the general.
There are many shades of red. Trump, himself, is a very unique candidate, who, as a result, had a very unorthodox coalition of allies and has made some odd enemies as well. The GOP is a big tent, and everyone isn’t going to agree on everything. Some parts of the tent will naturally be at odds.

Exactly. They said the same thing in the presidential election and Trump won the popular vote after they said he wouldn’t win the primary because he lost the previous general election. Now they’re doubling down and saying we owe them to get them to vote. Again we never needed them.
