Brother...
In Islam Jesus is a highly revered figured. In fact, he is one of the most important prophets of Allah.
You'll hear follows of Islam say "Jesus, peace be upon him, ..." when saying his name. Jesus is not the son of God in Islam but a prophet (like Muhammad, chosen by God to spread his word) who performed many miracles. Jesus will descend from heaven during the end times and beat the anti-christ. Does this sound pretty familiar to you? Islam shares many stories with the Bible. You would be surprised at how similar they are in many ways.
Also, it's 10 years old but why don't you hear it from Israelis themselves, to my knowledge this channel is pretty unbiased. It's worth a watch:

FYI, you would not hear followers of Islam disparage the name of Jesus.

I haven't been to any of these protests, but I know alot of people, myself included, don't care for the one sided relationship the U.S. has with Israel. It sure seems like they get everything & we get nothing in return.

I was just trying to understand why Americans are supporting/protesting murders in this instance that happened on Oct 7th last year. If this happened to us, we would go berserk on the enemy. It's sad we have people like this allowed to be protected by what our countrymen have given blood for for us to be in the free world acting they they do. This isnt right and should be dealt with swiftly.

They were commanded to by the heads of their ideology who command them how to think, what to believe, what to say, what to yell, and when to come back for more commands.
Very simple.

So is this guy a troll? Poisoning the well (hehe) to invite hardcore inconvenient truths to be posted?
I’ve seen that happen a few other times here lately. Like the guy who started the thread about AI chatbots refusing to say how many died in the Holocaust, and pretending to be outraged about it.

I was asking a question sir. No go back to your other nick and reply.

There’s no way you’re that ignorant

What do you mean "so many people:\"? its not even a fraction protesting. I see thousands at high school graduations and these protests are lucky to get a couple hundred.
It appears as you think because that is the way the news media wants you to believe.

Several colleges and universities have many students and other non students protesting on the school grounds against Israel. 1 is too many.

To answer your alleged non rhetorical question
Jews do believe Jesus was a person, but they believe he was a heretic. And specifically the Talmud states he is the bastard son of a whore, and is spending eternity boiling in his own excrement.
Muslims on the other hand believe Jesus was a prophet and he is highly revered, moreso than anyone other than Muhammed. But they do not believe he was divine.
So the question’s assumption is like an inverse of reality

If it is a troll it’s actually amazing because it baited me. Hard to tell online though

Frfr no cap
It’s a brilliant way to troll. Take some plausibly braindead bro Israel stance that opens you up to getting bitchslapped by anyone with the nerve to drop the truth.

The only thing that would be remotely comparable to this situation regarding America would be if one of the Indian reservations started stockpiling weapons and then attacked some civilians. I’m sure the US gov would crack down on them hard initially, but a sustained bombing campaign for 7 months? Nope, and people would be freaking out over that too.

BS .......there are not that many actual protestors. Count the idiots at the Universities. 300 from 4500 students is nothing. Especially when the majority of those are not actually students at all.
Coral them, weed them out and incarate the non students ......We'll see how long it takes to squash the idiots in the ranks ........
Considering that the supposed Palestinians were never a state, despised by the actual Middle Eastern countries .....wipe them from the face of the earth.
Some people need to actually red about the history of the PLO, especially Black September when 25,000 Palestinians were executed by Jordan.
group and actually learn about these liars and thieves ......Nothing more that grease for tank tracks ..... ....

quote:
Why are people here protesting against Israel when the U.S. would clearly do the same i.e. 9/11?
If you're talking about college professors and college students, they'd side with terrorists re 9/11 as well.
If you really want to know why, the single biggest player in that formula is a guy named Frantz Fanon. He was a pointy-headed professor who wrote three highly influential books in the 50s, the last of which was called The Wretched Of The Earth.
He was a Marxist (he actually died with leukemia that Soviet doctors couldn't treat, so they sent him to the US to get treatment...when he got here, the CIA kept him in a hotel room without treatment until he developed pneumonia and died of the pneumonia) and one of the pioneers of critical race theory and the idea of "colonizers as oppressors" (which, make no mistake, is a Marxist philosophy).
The Wretched Of The Earth set forth the idea that "colonized people" have the right to use violence against their oppressors and are always in the right and justified no matter what they do or what tactics they use to attempt to achieve their goals.
This is why these protestors do not care about Oct 7th. It's also why they say "Death to America."
So the answer to your question is that these ideas have been percolating and being taught in academia since the 60s and only gaining steam over time.
Now, Ben Shapiro points out that the college students doing the protesting are some of the most privileged people who have ever lived on planet Earth, reaping all sorts of advantages by being members of a "colonizing" society.
But they've also been taught from grade school on that being privileged is evil.
To reconcile the anxiety of this cognitive dissonance, they are essentially cosplaying and pretending to be an "oppressed" group. That's why they aren't just protesting, they're dressing up in hijabs and other traditional Muslim garb.
There's an entire generation of people who couldn't make it through the week without Uber and iPhones and TicTok and GrubHub, who has worked very little, if at all, who lives like royalty off of the backs of previous generations, whom they now spit on as "colonizers" and who have absolutely no clue what their lives would be like if they were to get their way and "America Died." They want to tear it all down with absolutely no skills and no will and grossly insufficient character to be able to rebuild it.
It would be laughable if it weren't so prevalent.
Now, thats the protestors. If you're talking about the posters here who always have red arse about Israel, there's at least two types of those people:
1. The people who resent Christians and the fact that Christian beliefs influence Christian's opinions about foreign policy (and other issues). These people ignore the fact that it is obvious that maintaining good relations with the ONLY country that doesn't hate the US in a region of the world that contains roughly 70% of the entire world's oil supply is in US interest and opposes US support of Israel basically out of spite.
2. The populists who are easily manipulated by Huckster Carlson and the like who are insufficiently intelligent to think abstractly enough to understand how supporting Israel serves American interests. So one group ignores that obvious fact and the other can't understand it and can only parrot "Muh 'Merica First!"

Oh gee, I wonder why so many of those countries hate us. And Israel imports 99% of its oil, so I'm not sure where you're going with this.

Well, only if the Indians had never been slaves in America, if their population had grown significantly instead of having been almost eradicated, if they refused to consider themselves American citizens, if their governing authority had an official charter calling for the eradication of America, if they comprised 20% of the American population (about 63,000,000 people), if they had been attacking, bombing, and killing American citizens since the 1940s and if the most recent attack had killed more than 100,000 Americans. Oh, and if they had rejected every single solution that anyone had every proposed to resolve the situation.
Then it would be comparable.
And Israel isn't bombing just to bomb. All Hamas has to do is surrender and it will stop immediately. They are tired of Hamas constantly trying to kill them and they won't stop until Hamas is gone.
I disagree that if it were really a comparable situation, the same thing wouldn't happen here.
