For one thing, Hegseth has never been qualified. He’s dangerously unqualified. He’s a hair-gelled pseudo macho Fox News hack who’s eviscerating the experienced senior officers corps…

This is why it made no sense to shut down the House to avoid voting on Massie's motion to impeach.

Lame duck Republicans who lose their elections might actually vote to impeach after the midterms. No chance that the Senate CONVICTS and REMOVES Hegseth, but Massie's motion has a much better chance of success AFTER midterms than when it was made.

Well, that is not why they did it so why then need for it to make sense?

It’s cute you think that’s why the house went on recess.

You're so gullible. Why do YOU think Johnson shut it down a day early? WHEN did Johnson make that decision...after Massie's filed his motion to impeach which had to be voted on within two legislative days.

Of course, I'm the idiot for believing you meant what you wrote. You just have to reflexively disagree because you know I'm right.

Answer this question: is it more likely that Hegseth would be impeached BEFORE or AFTER the midterms...which will render at least a few Republicans lame ducks?

Neither.

So, the chances are exactly the same? Your failure to answer questions honestly is a bad look.

Use your AI machine and now tell us how many impeachment attempts there were during the 119th Congress and how many were successful.

How many were voted upon AFTER the midterms? That's the whole point. The ones BEFORE the midterms all failed.

By postponing action until AFTER the midterms, some lame duck Republicans might vote for impeachment, whereas they wouldn't have voted for impeachment before they became lame ducks.

I need to know. Do you really not understand that?

Because he is an unqualified incompetent DEI hire by this administration, he is trying to indoctrinate Pentagon/military into his religious beliefs like military is a bunch of Christian templars fighting evil other religions instead of fighting for American values and Democracy.

Articles of impeachment and a vote to proceed doesn’t guarantee conviction. 2/3 of the senate isn’t going to vote to convict Hegseth. Massie’s articles are sham and shite flung on the wall especially since Congress couldn’t even pass a vote to stop the current conflict with Iran, multiple times, led by Massie.

I have said repeatedly there is ZERO chance of conviction and removal in the Senate. You really can't acknowledge that it's bad strategy to have the vote in the House AFTER the midterms?

Doesn’t matter you’ve said that’s why recess was called to stop it. Why stop something that isn’t going to happen? Even if it’s after midterms it’s not going to change the situation. They tried 3 times to limit trumps article 2 powers and failed every single time. There’s zero chance the senate would vote 2/3 for impeachment which means your theory is baloney.

I personally think you all that support Massie or think he won something in this situation are nuts. You have a guy who is called a principled conservative who is waging articles of impeachment after being primaried against a cabinet member of his own party that would only lead to spending money and creating tension before primaries. Guess that sums up you staunch conservative libertarians …

I'm sorry DeBoar. I really didn't understand how ignorant you were until right now. I wouldn't have been so tough on you.

You literally don't know that only the House votes on IMPEACHMENT, which is simply the charge. It requires only a simple majority to pass. The Senate votes on conviction/removal, which requires a 2/3rds majority.

My bad. I thought you were being dishonest. I apologize.

Nah you’re the retard. If your goal is to impeach via the house and not get 2/3 senate then you’re just a moron. Is that what you’re saying Massie’s goal was? I’m well aware what each chamber does. Why impeach if you can’t get 2/3 senate afterwards?

Have you ever run paragraphs here through an analysis tool?

I highly suggest it.

You can't just keep trying to invent reality. I have repeatedly said how much I admire Hegseth. I have uniformly called Massie's motion to impeach an unprincipled---and maybe dangerous---political stunt.

I am just making the obvious point that Massie's motion to impeach has a better chance of passage in the House AFTER the midterms.

Massie was good on some things. He's been bad on others. This is a really bad thing he is doing regarding Hegseth.
