The repatriated survivors raised a new legal question: if the U.S. had enough evidence to attack their boat, why wasn't that evidence sufficient to try them in an American court?

Well the answer here is that the administration does not want these people in our country in detention as they will become the next heroes for the democrats. Leftist judges will want them released from imprisonment for a host of constitutional reasons. So, send them back to where they came from.

I support this 100%.

What I do not support at all, if true, is sending survivors back to their home countries to try again.

Hey Bunk, maybe you should give em a call and ask for this evidence.....
Maybe they'll give you a tour of the classified, top secret station where drone operators and computer analysts work and monitor satellite feeds, drone footage, intercepted phone calls and every other communication imaginable!

This is dumb. Of course they won't reveal how they know and they shouldn't.

How about first letting them bake on Guantanamo for a few months?

I generally hate state secrets and using muh national security to protect the government from any scrutiny.

I think there is healthy discussion to be had about whether operations like this should have oversight.

Oversight from the likes of the staunch defenders of Maryland Man? From the league of lawyers and judges working overtime to free illegal traffickers of every thing from drugs to guns to people? Fighting every detention? Every deportation?

No, thank you.

I have an old AOL email I still use and stories like this always pop up first. It actually provides a nice snapshot of what the MSM drones are saying.

Think of all the state secrets via muh national security that happened under other administrations that you DIDN'T hear about because MSM carries water for Black Jesus and Autopen?

Or, even some that did get reported but... "at this point, what difference does it make?"

Never-mind, you probably "can't recall".

I just think zero accountability from the security state and MIC leads to things like Russiagate or Iran Contra. This is different because Pete is open about the attacks, but again, blowing up civilian boats off another continent (that probably weren't even coming here and going to drop off drugs in another country) is pushing all kinds of boundaries and blurring all kinds of lines.

Bunk's TDS is so obsessively insane that he doesn't care about the purpose of the operation(s).

I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure I could come up with a pretty solid explanation for this one.

What is your logical estimation for why they might not be brought to America?
