Yup.
Huge peice of shite.

But go ahead and look at most politics across the US and the world in the 1930's.

He's damn near sane compared to the rest.

States across the US didn't have dictators place puppets in power and control politics from out of State. His shitty legacy destroyed LA.

This is a common excuse Long apologists fall back on all the damn time.

The rest of the south and Texas was no more worse or better than the shape Louisiana was in at the time and yet nearly a century later, they have better quality of life, better economies with far less natural resources than what Louisiana has and also have very competent leadership, they are states that people want to move to while everyone avoids Louisiana like the plague.

Why is that you ask?

Because they didn't have their own Huey Long come in and run their state Governments like a communist thug and institutionalize a culture of corruption.

I would let you cut off one of my pinky fingers to get Jindal over the guy currently in the office.

He was the only governor to have a call in show from the people every week and actually listen to them. In my lifetime he would be number 1.

With a condition on two things....

1.) He cannot start any dick measuring contests with our GOP senators. He did that with David Vitter and that stupidity was a big factor in conservatives losing the Governor's mansion.

2.) He is not allowed to even think about touching Washington politics with exceptions to supporting the GOP party line on hot button issues like immigration, COVID, crime and so on.

We're still feeling and experiencing it today with his institutionalized culture of corruption being the biggest reason why Louisiana is an economic backwater.

This is the reason our legislatures can't override a veto from this so called governor we have now. The stage has been set for corruption and cronyism for so many decades started by Huey Long and perfected by EWE. When you have politicians that have an election motto "One for me and one for you", and you laugh with them, there is a serious problem.

Despite his flaws, still better than his predecessor and successor.
