How about for first interaction with a threat while the good folk are worshipping.
In anticipation of someone entering the church with a gun pulled. Gotcha.

Everywhere. Don’t care if they have a sign or not. Only exception I make is if I go to a bar but this is exceedingly rare anymore.
Not scared… just prepared.

I carry everywhere that doesn’t have metal detectors or pat downs as a requirement for entry.
My priest recently got rid of the weekend police detail due to how expensive it is, and asked the men of the church to start concealed carrying.

The church I attend on occasion has a pistol-packing preacher.
If you bust up into his church with the intent to do harm, he will smite your arse with the Holy thunder of Smith and Wesson.

What prompted your parish to start hiring security details?

They started that before I converted, so I honestly couldn’t tell you. I assume some mass church shooting prior to 2020 prompted it. There are 3 doors leading into the church, and all of those get locked a few minutes prior to mass except the main entrance where the policeman would be posted.

There are so many people who carry in my church I'll probably get shot by one of them before the bad guy gets me. Some of them I trust, but not all.

Every Sunday but I also lead our security team.

I have several Christian preacher friends who have professional protection layered from outside the church down to one man who stands right next to the pastor when he greets first time visitors. I appreciate their service but mourn the fact that it's needed.

I do. We have an armed security team as well carrying concealed.

We have security teams. Rotate out monthly. We carry.

Well my 4510 Magnum Judge was a bit uncomfortable.

It is legal to conceal carry in church in Virginia if you have a "good and sufficient reason" such as self defense. However, if there is a sign at the door banning firearms OR you are told you can't by the pastor, you can be found guilty of a class 4 misdemeanor. No signs at the door at our church and we have security teams at the entrance. All other doors are locked from entry after service starts.

Who here concealed carries in church?
No one has ever noticed.

It is church property. Same as any other private enterprise, its up to them if they want guns on the premises--not you.
Sad but true. I got asked to leave a mall while carrying because it was private property (by a deputy). My response was “I didn’t realize the constitution didn’t apply to private property. Does that mean I can own a slave as long as I keep them chained up on my own property?” He just grinned.

Yea, my plan of action is to throw the wife and kids down on the deck, dive on top, and hope I dont get caught by the hail of bullets the congregation will be launching back.
