Um, why?

Russellville AR hit 115 within the last ten years. NWS temp recorded at airport. 120 does not seem outrageous since was dust bowl years. Plus tho high dust bowl temps were very widespread and not just regional anomalies.

Checked and was 2011 for the 115 F.

In Europe just last week, they were taking ground temps, not air temps, and publishing them.

It would be like comparing natural grass to artificial turf, and then claiming that the turf is real grass.

You climate crazies are dumb.

But but but the feel like temperature!

It can be the real temperature is 88 degrees but the feels like temperature is 106 so it’s a 106 day today!

No, as can be evidenced by my not taking a position on this.

Here's a clue: Climate is variable. Some summers are hotter than other summers. This summer could be the hottest on record. After all, if some summers are hotter than others, it stands to reason that one would likely be the hottest of all.

None of that necessarily means that humans are causing global warming. They may or may not be.

I also believe that climate science should not have anything to do with politics. Not to mention I have never been a member of any political party in the 40 years I've been registered to vote, and have never even voted for a Democrat or a Republican for president in the ten elections since.

Because extremes are irrelevant when it comes to analyzing long-term data trends.

What about it?

Climate science is complicated enough. There are so many variables to control for, that it's almost like working in an open container.

All-time state high temps that year include scorching readings of 120°F in Texas Just these numbers alone should raise red flags.

tell me you've never been to West Texas without saying you've never been to West Texas.
We've hit 113° several times in the last few weeks.
You telling me topping out at 7° once or twice in a century is just impossible to believe?

It's a desert.
deserts get hot.

This summer could be the hottest on record

It's very likely to be so, at least in the Southwest, and that record will likely last only until next summer.

It's just getting progressively hotter, storms are becoming more violent, droughts and firestorms are getting worse, and glaciers are melting at a dizzying pace. As Mitzi Gaynor once sang, "it's just too darn hot." In certain parts of the Southwest, in Phoenix and along the Texas-Mexico border, conditions are rapidly becoming illivable for humans.

Yeah a pen and paper is not as accurate as a metal thermometer near an airport sending a signal to a device that sends a radio signal to a recorder miles away.

Thought the claim was about the global average temps? What does that have to do with specific locations?

After record snowfalls from Colorado to California. Cali's lakes being replenished after the same panic mania about Cali drying up for the last several years?

It's called weather and jet stream and El Nino, La Nina. Some years are cooler and wetter and some are warmer and drier.

To think by you wanting me to pay more taxes and not drive my Jeep across the West enjoying freedom will somehow minimize the cool to warm is asinine and ignorant.
