Turnip's team realizes defund the police is a loser. no wonder they are trying to hang this on Rs.

% of voters who called violent crime a "major crisis"

57% of Rs
52% of Ds
70% of African-American votershttps://t.co/NbYAkoGclh

White House officials sent a memo to state and local officials on Monday urging them to use funds from President Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package to reduce crime and combat gun violence at a time when U.S. cities are seeing a spike in violent crime.

The memo outlines how states and cities can take advantage of funds allocated through the rescue plan to support law enforcement, invest in community-based violence interventions, enforce gun laws and assist those who have been incarcerated to reenter their communities. It builds on a strategy that Biden outlined last month. LINK

The strategy was built last summer when the Democrats wanted to portray a false narrative that all cops are evil.

Or to paraphrase what Obama's minister Wright would say "The Democrat's chickens are coming home to roost."

This is because they got correctly called out and embarrassed over the fact that Republicans opposing these funds had nothing to do with defunding the police. Now they're trying to look like the intent was to help fund the police, since that is never mentioned in the bill not even a single time.

Not for them to use set aside monies to fund their projects . Remember when the uproar came for Trump to use funds for the wall ?

So the Leftist White House, which is occupied by many militant leftists who support BLM and Antifa, are telling cities, that willing voted to defund the police, and remove police protections, to use the China Virus bribery payments that were acquired via shutting down cities, to "fund" the police? Imagine, if these leftists didn't defund the police? Now the nation is subsidizing idiocy (not a big change, but more apparent this time)?

They're never going to successfully combat crime until they take an honest assessment of who and the culture that is committing the majority of it. Until then they are just pissing against the wind

Problem for them is that the side committing these crimes are their constituents.

Stopping them one way or another costs them votes.

Still playing politics with police and crime

Republicans need to create a “Refund The Police” bill, and that’ll reveal the truth.

Bout to create myself a nonprofit "community interventions and de-escalation" entity and profit. That's a contradiction I know but seems to work for others.

I don’t trust them to use this money towards crime or anything helpful. Also why do we have so much covid stimulus money left over what was the point of passing it so fast. Also if it’s not being used on covid does that mean China virus is over

Dems put their own Marxist AGs and DAs and judges in place on local level to destabilize the states (finances/crime). Eventually the states will be glad to cede their rights and the feds will come in and control America like the European Union. There will no longer be any "states rights" and it won't matter what the constitution says because no one is stopping any federal overreach. It keeps happening and those who stand up get "curb stomped" into physical or financial submission through the Marxist judicial system. Then they will toss out the American flag and replace it with a bunch of soy bois tweaking each others nipples.

When you send money to Democrat states and then tell them what to spend it on several months after, you aren't going to get the results you want.

All of the listed "solutions" will fail miserably. In Houston, the local media have started to report many of the violent crimes again. The new dnc will admit the rise in crime, but blame it on "gun violence" and not lax judges, no bail laws and releasing recidivist felons back on society.
