If you are performing military duties you don't need a CDL, so not so sure how many would have them.

Stupid bitch over NY state threatened to deploy the NG to work the hospitals after firing people refusing the vax. How are they going to cover docks on both coasts and hospitals in NY state?

I know when I see a crowded hospital, the first thing I think is “Call in the Guard!”

Wtf? I’m sure there are some medically trained people in the National Guard but they are certainly a small percentage of the total available.

Sounds like an argument being made to nationalize it.

Bingo.

The did nationalize the railroads during WW1. It was a clusterfrick that left them in a sorry state when released back to their owners. Well after the war ended I might add.

FDR wanted to use WWII as the lever to nationalize much of the US economy but was talked out of it by Knudsen. He, former GM chairman, was able to convince FDR that private enterprise was much more flexible and efficient. Which proved to be correct.

The National Guard could be considered competing against private industry.
It is a catch 22. Private industry cannot handle the task. If you compete against private industry it could be considered unfair competition.

It isn't a catch 22 when the plan all along is to nationalize the supply chain.

1. Erode private industry by shutting the economy down.
2. Destroy it by paying people not to work.
3. Nationalize industry
4. Socialist profit

Military vehicles do not require a CDL, they are exempt even on public roads. The military does not require or issue them.

“There isn’t one pinch point but many that fall mostly outside the direct control of governments.”

These are the ones they could not shut down.

So what happened to the 24hr agreement with the Unions last week? I thought that was going to solve the problem?

These people do not realize that the folks in the Guard, especially those with CDLs, are already working in the supply chain in their civilian jobs…

No different than pulling nurses or doctors from their civilian job, you are just creating another hole somewhere else…

These frickers are too stupid to realize it…

By getting the national guard called up, it would be basically marketing. It will have absolutely no real change on the supply chain. The issues have more to do with production as well, depending on your definition of supply chain.

What next, the national guard is going to work for free down the road at the local chicken farm? The military outsources all this kind of stuff, they don't have 1 million guys all ready to get on trucks they don't own. Nor guys to unload containers, or unload distribution from trucks.

Exactly how would all that work?

The problems are many and my bet is you haven't seen anything yet.

How long before they bring in Navy Cargo Handlers to start running the ports. There aren't nearly enough to do the job and all of them, except NCHB One, are SELRES.

There is no realistic way of this working. Its not a matter of just unloading ships, there is all kinds of complex issues, not all the containers come off the ship and containers go back on the ship. Its actually a very complex operation, I know... I saw my father do it for 30 years overseeing marine operations. There are now systems and sub-systems, let alone the long-shoremen have contracts.

And the elephant in the room is production is going to be the biggest issue going forward. What next the NG sent to Taiwan to help with computer chip production?

This is nothing but a PR stunt. Its idiotic.

They could take over the port and production at the port will go to near zero as they don't have the ability to carry out the work.

NG will be sent to fight five alarm fires in NYC after DeBlasio fires all unvaccinated NYFD.

The best idea (and easiest) would be to issue an executive order suspending California’s law that moved a crap ton of trucks off the roads for Green reasons.

That law has done more to create this problem than anything else. Biden will never do that

This is a national emergency. Y’all have been complaining about inflation all year. You haven’t seen a thing yet. All this stuff coming in late is going to cost 15-20% more because of the sky high freight costs. Has to be passed on to the consumer.

Meanwhile Buttigeg comes out on CNBC this morning after being In hiding for two months and all that idiot can talk about is Build Back Better. Every question about what is going on now and what can be done now was batted away

These people do not care if Braiylei or Braxton don’t get their toys this year. They also don’t give a crap about rising fuel prices. Everything is about down the road and small sacrifices we make now to meet their Green agenda. If we can just get these two spending bills passed there will be unicorns and pixie dust for everyone

Realistically, the NG could help in very isolated areas with basic tasks.

Other than that, its a PR stunt.

Is there inflation if the items don't even exist?

The problem will be when the whole thing breaks down, and instead of seeing select items not at the store... its everything.

This will end up like the old Soviet Union, but worse because those people were use to not having things... and didn't rely on the store to live.

If the Federal Reserve system breaks down or China exits.... starvation will be within weeks. The "learn to code" idiots will find out very quickly how food gets to the table and its not code.
