AWS is where Trump can hurt Amazon. Get rid of AWS and replace it with Microsoft Azure or IBM's Rise cloud computing service.

Why didn't they do the same during Bidenflation

It is pretty funny how every time this administration does something bad, Biden seems to catch shots.

I think it would be good if they also put the country of origin

Everyone just assumes that it's all from China. That is definitely not the case.

The government is trying to intimidate business's now? Does the fed gov have an issue with tax being listed on the bill? If I have to pay for something id rather everything be itemized.

For this admin to call this a political stunt is downright stupid.

The fact that we're even having this discussion is an absurdity.

Let's say that the pre-tariff price of an item is $100 and it's subject to a 10% tariff. Instead of charging $110, the manufacturer decides to eat part of the tariff and charges $105. Would Amazon have listed the tariff as $10 even though the price only increased $5?

Point being that simply listing the tariff amount doesn't always tell the full story.

Agreed to an extent. But Trump definitely is too concerned with revenge politics and needs to focus on the interests of the American people. Not who hurt his feelings.

Taxes are separated out on most receipts. This is no different.

Then why didn't they do it before? Do you think tariffs have only existed in the past month?

The problem is that this is clearly a political move. If Amazon truly cared about the cost of tariffs on Americans, they would have done this long before now. It is merely an attempt by a corporation to influence a president's policy. Corporations trying to set policy is something conservatives used to be against. It's certainly something that anti-globalist America First patriots should be against.

I kind of want to know the price of a good on Amazon before I put it in my cart.

The White House on Tuesday denounced Amazon's reported plans to disclose the cost that U.S. tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump were adding to its products, and slammed the retail giant for its past ties to China.

I am actually for them posting the additional tariff amount. It will make it easy to see what charge should be removed when the tariffs adjust. Other companies are just going to increase the price and then when the tariffs are adjuster just back down a little - BAM - the "new" permanent price is now much higher .

It also will show how much garbage we buy form China - even it it has an American sounding company name.

Sounds like Bezos wants to see if he can get public opinion to get this back in his favor. Frick him.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was a shot at Amazon and not Biden. And for the record, Biden caught his fair share of shots here when it was warranted and when it wasn't, just like Trump did in 2016-present.

I asked, why are they (AMZN) doing this to the current President when they didn't do it to the former President*. Is that not a reasonable ask?

But they're not doing it at all now, so that's neither here nor there. The question, however, still remains relevant.
