It's the same people that thought hearing characters on the Lone Ranger radio show shoot their guns would lead to violence.
They said the same thing about tv's and movies. It's been shown to be untrue, but why let that get in the way of a good way to allow people to escape responsibility for their actions?

Off and on. The only time I feel the need to harm another living thing is fishing with the intent of eating any fish I catch. I enjoy target shooting, but I don't like hunting. I'd have an extremely difficult time shooting an actual person for real, and I hope I'm never in that situation.

There are already an estimated 450,000,000 guns in the US....banning guns is not only stupid, but impossible.
Put criminals under the jail and to death if necessary, that will solve the problem.

He was “radicalized” on 4-chan or whatever. Whoever it may be that participated in that situation, they were cruising the site looking for somewhat subtle clues from some person that they’d be a worthwhile project. Comments from the kid, etc. Then comes a drawn out, very intentional brainwashing of sorts with the ultimate goal of egging the guy on to do such a thing. His being not doubt an immature 18 yr old boy is likely a key ingredient. I don’t see how anyone could dismiss this possibility. Pretty simple and straightforward plan. And I’d also say that it’s probably happened on much more than one occasion.
Now, the tricky part is who would’ve done it, and yes both civilian and government actors are completely fair discussion points.
