Romans 13:9, Paul lists a number of the ten commandments which can be summed up in the saying "You shall love your neighbor as yourself".

All of the ten commandments are encapsulated by two that Jesus gives in Matthew 22:36-40

quote:

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Envy. It was Lucifer’s desire to be worshipped like God that introduced the whole Evil Spiritual Paradigm into the Creation scenario. Helmut Schoeck has an extraordinary Book entitled “Envy” on this subject.

It is so basically Human to see some thing appealing and desire it. That motivation can work for both good and bad depending on the outcome.

TRUTH!

Jesus was about simplicity

All kinds of religions have perverted this in his name since.

I think there are 2 general kinds of 'Pride'. One is OK and one unwarrented. It's OK to be proud that you were MVP on your H.S. football team. Because you made that happen with your work. It's not OK to be proud to be an American. I had nothing to do with my location of birth. I'm grateful and happy to be an American. But not proud.
