I have been hearing about texas "turning blue" for like 15 years, but there isn't much evidence of it.

Hillary only got 42% there in 2016, barely any better than obama in 2012.

If you compare dem vote share in texas from the 90s to now, it hasn't budged much.

You are correct. A lot of “blue” Austin becomes “red” suburban when they grow up and get real jobs and families. Hence, this anticipated political sea change doesn’t really happen.

It will happen when Collin, Denton, Montgomery and Williamson counties turn blue, as Fort Bend County is doing.

That makes no sense. The problems we have don’t have anything to do with women in charge. Every President and almost every major political figure has been a man. Women don’t start wars, don’t commit most of the crimes, aren’t the rapists or dead beat parents. Antifa, George Floyd, Obama, Biden are men.

Texas will never be a blue state. It may end up being a swing state in the future, but the current "blueing" of texas is due to trump. When he leaves, the next gop nominee will win state easily.

My gf got the red pill last week when she felt her job was at risk because she was negotiating prices for stories of black influencers' oppression for retail brands to hustle.

If those suburban counties turn blue, joining the urban areas, then the rural vote won’t matter.

texashorn, I’ll not sure I’ll ever figure you out.
I know you’re Randy, and I know you hate us/Ags with a fiery passion.

But I want you to know that there’s zero doubt in my mind that you’re a passionate Tejano who cares about The Great State.
Know that we’re not enemies.
If there’s ever anything I, my Aggie family, and my best friends (e.g., TBird) can do to reach out and bond with you, say it.

We’re good folks.
And we believe in Jesus, who told each of us to treat each other as He treated us.

My grandma said this all the time before she died. She felt that women’s suffrage opened the door to identity politics and that women are easily manipulated by emotional/shock value arguments, which I tend to agree with.

When the suburbs turn blue. There is no point living in Dallas. I'd rather live in southern california if I'm getting taxed and regulated like that.

What the heck does that mean?

You just posted anecdotal evidence that your precinct in Houston is red. What difference does that make? Houston and Harris County are Democrat already.

Demographics is destiny.

Then why did clinton lose in 2016? The electorate was less white than in 2012 yet she underperformed obama big time.

The point doesn't make any sense dude. Demographic groups are not stagnant robots that vote the same way every election. a basic study of US history shows that many groups change the way they vote. Italians, Irish, blacks, southerners, etc all have switched parties one way or another.
