So, it's been going on a while. Truthfully, I think this grew out of the "Africa" movement in the 70's, when American blacks grew inquisitive about their lineage. Legitimate research and understanding was bastardized into we wuz kangz.
This is along the lines of where it started.
It should be noted that Egyptians created s culture more common amongst Mediterranean civilizations.
The Sahaleian kingdoms (Mali, Ghana, and Songhai) is a more accurate representation of SubSaharran Africans. It should be noted that they were more medieval than ancient.
As for why there are no first world black countries, I could very easily go into the effects colonization had. But as for the presrnt, countries like Nigeria, Ghana, and Rwanda are developing.

ut of course, these places were not on the same level as others around the world. The Silk Road and other major trade routes couldn’t get through the desert, which is one theory as to why Africa has generally lagged behind other places.
Guns, Germs, and Steel does an excellent job of dissecting this.
Geography is everything when pertaining to ancient civilization and their empires.
While overlooked, you should check out the history of the Congo.

Did any SubSaharan civilization develop a written language?

I'm assuming that if there were some futuristic, highly advanced African countries, thousands of years ago, that they were made extinct by modern Africans.
Maybe futuristic, ancient africans decided upon an open borders policy, where they allowed the primitive surrounding tribes to become part of their advanced civilization..

It's a riff on Sharpton's rant some time ago, IIRC.

Then archeologists would have found remnants of their buildings. In Sub Saharan Africa digs have found nothing as advanced as the wheel.

Did a group of mainly protestant, white man invent democracy in the USA? Who did we steal it from? Greeks and Asian and African tribes practiced forms of democracy. Did we steal it?
No, they didn’t steal it; they perfected it.
Wait you’re a communist, why do you care about democracy?

In England we met a couple who were migrating from South Africa and they had already decided the houses in England were too small after what they were used to,
The wife also said this " you show me a tribe that can feed itself, and I'll show you a bloody miracle."

I recall watching a Morton Downey jr show, damn near 30 years ago, where a panelist grew frustrated and interjected, "We sailed the Nile! We were kings and queens!"
So, it's been going on a while. Truthfully, I think this grew out of the "Africa" movement in the 70's, when American blacks grew inquisitive about their lineage. Legitimate research and understanding was bastardized into we wuz kangz.
Also, anyone not getting the Morton Downey reference needs to google. That show was wild.
Dude would smoke during the show and all sorts of stuff. Chairs got thrown, punches thrown.
Found this pic that pokes fun of the saying

Surprising how few of them want to move back to Africa, isn't it.

Significant would be written language, record keeping, stable government, longevity, invention and advancement of sciences. That sort of thing. Doubt any subsaharan kingdoms met those goals.

Ron Paul on Morton Downey Jr in 1988 talking libertarianism and legalizing all the drugs. Shouting ensues. Ron calls out CIA. Youtube link 15 minute video

I'm sure there we're ancient African civilizations. From mines pockmarking the landscape to ruins in the Congo there was a lot going on in Africa.

Proof that they could fly, you don't need wheels when you can fly.

Could you elaborate on the Mormon view of Jesus?
Well Mormons believe all sort of stuff about Jesus that Christians do not. Mormons believe that Jesus came to the New World way before European Missionaries and taught them about Christianity but the Indians like forgot or something. Look it up.
