This is the correct answer.

Obama was largely elected by whites that wanted to virtue signal and felt like voting for him was the "cool" thing to do, and thought it showed how progressive and forward thinking Americans could be. At 20 years old, I was one of those people.

Didn't care about policy or experience and didn't pay any attention to that stuff, I was just proud to be part of the "movement" that showed how awesome America can be because we elected a black president. I was young and foolish.

Over time, that same feeling of being awesome because we supported a black guy for president has slowly shifted and turned into the white guilt you see today. It's the "cool" thing to do and shows how "forward thinking" Americans can be, that we can throw away our own race in favor of kneeling to another. It's the Obama movement progressed even further, because there's not another way to do it when evil white men are running the country (or on the ballot to run the country).

It has no basis in reality other than to appear "woke" to your buddies and the internet, to gain cool points like voting for Obama did back in 2008.

Hopefully the vast majority of those that feel white guilt grow out of it once they realize how stupid and divisive it is, just like I grew out of being a Democrat.

I wish I had more than one up vote. I couldn't agree more. And now they are teaching the filthy NY Times 1619 curriculum in some parts of our country. This America hating, socialist promoting "teaching" has got to be stopped!
