We've had this discussion before.

As we've discussed, you and I come from diametrically opposite sides of the inheritance equation. MrsNC and I didn't have the luxury to say "frick Rugged Individualism". In contrast to the Obama's "Someone built that for you," if we didn't build it, nobody was going to do it for us. Nobody! So we went the American Exceptionalism route.

Where you say "frick Rugged Individualism", I say stick the You-Didn't-Build-That crap right up the butt of any spoiled SOB making the claim.

In fact, we did build that. After forming a business, acquiring a couple of others, merging, growing, selling, investing, all while caring for human beings, we're in a place we could not have imagined when we were starting out.

So we'll be able to do for our kids what your folks did for you. Maybe not such a good thing? But rugged individualism was the path we took.
