This video which dropped Friday gets into the weeds of it all going back to the history of the CIA in the markets starting in the 70s.

You don’t have to be. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. They are singularly intersected into DOD, Intelligence and Law Enforcement for the purposes of taking mountains of data and aggregating into one ecosystem. It’s a ton of power for one company to posses.

hasn't trump tasked palantir with creating a digital file on every american?

According to the EO Trump signed, no. According to articles about the EO, yes. It depends what you want to believe - Trump's words or the words of "journalists" who make money off of controversy.

Trump's EO called for consolidating already existing information in various government databases into a unified person profile. This is common practice in data management. The government already has the data on you. Trump is not ordering Palantir to create new data and track everything you do (you willingly let Google, Apple, and Facebook track everything you do btw).

What it does is allow government agencies to better uncover and prevent fraud. SS has IRS data who has DHS data, etc. If you want an efficient government, this helps.

Conservatives want deportations. Well, DHS had to request info from the IRS. If the IRS says no or drags its feet, the DHS is SOL. This prevents that. The people who want deportations and the elimination of fraud are complaining about the steps necessary to accomplish them.

We need more deportations, but don't spend money for more agents.

We need to eliminate fraud, but don't make it easy to uncover the fraud.

Bitch about a problem, and then bitch about the solution and the guy trying to fix it. It's the conservative way.

That's the type of thing that will be used against us.
Just like the “patriot” act. And similarly, there will be supporters because their guy enacted it.
