There has to be something legislatively that can be done. Can a citizenship be revoked if they leave the country for a prolonged period of time ?

It wouldn't hurt if the Congress would do their fricking job and make some legislation that strictly defines the circumstances where a child born to non citizens is determined to have birthright citizenship. In other words, you can't merely stumble across the border or fly into the US and plop out a baby to stake your claim in the US.

Nothing. Other than a very secure, fortress like border. But even that doesn't matter because most of the problems now are from legal immigrants. Do you think the Muslims in Michigan are illegals?

If there is any legal to force the child to leave with their parent/parents.....I say the child goes.

Remedy for birthright tourism.
Limit dual citizenship.
Make infants expatriates in the country that they reside.
Make them file a 1040 for benefits received from said country.

Should be a ward of the federal government. Let SCOTUS justices raise them.

Birthright citizenship is just a problem tied to larger issues.

1) Broken immigration enforcement
2) Idiocy of multiculturalism
3) Low birth rates for natives
4) Broken welfare system and corrupted federal systems

This is the correct answer.

I honestly don't understand what the gloom and doom predictions regarding this are about.

Just deport the parents. The children will go with them. Problem solved.

And if you aren't going to deport the parents, the children would have stayed in country as illegals anyway.

Get rid of dual citizenship entirely. Pick a side.
No pregnant women allowed in the US. If they stay they have to attest they are not pregnant once a month and we can test them to insure it. If they are, they are on the next flight home and they cannot come back. Ever.
Seal the border. Do not allow anyone to come here and initiate the process. Has to be started outside the US and approved. Gotta be a net positive on our economy. If you need assistance you can get it after you get off the plane back to your own country.

And while all that's happening, round up every last illegal in this country and remove them. Get rid of the H1B's that don't want to pay $100k per year for the priviledge. Get rid of the foreigners in our colleges.

And if the left wants to get violent about it. Kill them.

Easy, immediately deport the illegal parents and send the US citizen child with them (unless they have a US citizen family member ready to adopt today). The kid can come back when he is 18 and can support himself. Anybody who gives birth while illegally on US soil is forever banned from ever reentering the US for any reason after they are deported.

ICE should make child-bearing age women a high deportation priority, with known pregnant illegals getting highest priority. They should routinely sweep the Maternity wards of hospitals, deporting before they can give birth.

The US should not allow women more than 3 months pregnant to enter the US unless we are accepting them for permanent immigration.
