Where do you find source and reference? For this issue, have you ever been in Taiwan and China?

Seriously, saying google should be banned. That has to be the best marketing of all time. Anytime someone talks about doing searches, they say Google it. It’s the worst search engine out there, especially for people who talk here

Because Taiwan is a semi independent province on China.
The “White Chinese” fled to the island at the end of of the revolution, killing most of the Japanese and Cantonese that lived on the island. There are plenty of documentaries and about the “white terror” when the ROC took and purged the island of all dissent.
I was in Taipei when Carter recognized the PROC as the real China (dad was at the grass knoll facility) and they rioted forcing all Americans out of the country. Carter will forever be ahead of Biden because he held a plane for mom and me(mom and I were off the facility and marines found us and got us on the plane) whereas Biden told folks in Afghanistan and the Ukrainian missions to do the best they can.
The status quo that ensued allowed China to still use Hong Kong and Taiwan to ship some of its export goods when they didn’t want the made in China label on them but as Chinese goods became more acceptable they became less needed. Now China uses Norway and Finland to rebrand their higher end electronics that they don’t want a Chinese label on instead so Hong Kong and Taiwan became less important for trade. This is a huge reason why both sides agreed to honor the treaty returning Hong Kong to China. The main stumbling block for Taiwan is Japan wanting that buffer between them and China. That’s where all the defense treaties come into play. If China was to crack down on Taiwan then Japan would act forcing the US and Aussie to act.

You're entire existence depends on TSM chips
Because the US can’t produce these chips? How many things do we get from China? Is it really going to be beneficial to the US to anger someone we trade heavily with?

That is 100% correct
It would take like 7-10 years to onshore the capacity required to keep our economy running. On top of that, our military is inoperable wihtout the Chinese

Probably not that long but thanks for trying.

Correct, we can't.
We should have spent the last 70 years investing in manufacturing infrastructure in Mexico instead of China and Taipei.

Why does China have such a big issue with Taiwan?
Taiwan is a true democracy and fabulously prosperous. Like Hong Kong, Taiwan by comparison really makes China look like the evil, bumbling, poorly managed dictatorship slave prison that it is. Consider how China has ravaged Hong Kong since the takeover, turning it into a miserable giant prison.
The Chinese communist government wants to eliminate the competition and rule all with an iron fist. I have been to Taiwan on business trips many times. It is amazing how well developed and prosperous the tiny Island country is. The citizens are happy, prosperous, hard working and trust worthy.

No need to look any furtuer. In college of engeering or any hard majors at LSU, how many tenure professors are latino backgound, how many are asian?
Asian people still do better in math and science subjects.

One motive is international image. North Korea is a shite hole. But it's also next door to South Korea which makes them look even worse. Same race, same language, different form of govt.
Taiwan's standard of living is waaay higher than China's. It's an indictment of China's communist system.

Asians do better in math and science, that is true but much of that is cultural. They are driven by their culture from an early age to study, work and compete, just as the USA did for 2 centuries before we got lazy, spoiled, ego centric and corrupt. The election of sociopaths like Biden, Pelosi, Newsom, Schiff, Swalwell, etc. are more symptoms of a corrupt culture.

They are certainly motivated to make it hard to find certain things and disclosure is gonna prove it.

If we had a strong President we would work out an agreement with the tech companies to bring them to the US if they would move their facilities here. They make a huge number of the chips in the world and it would be awesome if they could be made here.

Why does China have such a big issue with Taiwan?
Taiwan owns 90% of the worlds chip manufacturing, that alone s more valuable than all industry in china combined.
he who controls Taiwan controls the world

Not to mention we produce most of our medications over there. Could get really bad if you can’t find insulin.
