Paying off sexual harassment claims with taxpayer $$ vs Trump paying off a porn star with his own $ before he was even elected.

How can 1 thing be legal and the other illegal.

The members of congress actually harassed people and therefore had to pay out. Trump paid off someone to keep consensual sex quiet.

Heck, he might have been extorted.

Harassment isn't in the same ballpark as consensual sex.

And I've stated several times on this site. Both Republicans and Democrats should be exposed for using tax payer money to keep their sexual harassment quiet.

Don't care if it is my 10 favorite Republicans and only 1 democrat. It shouldn't be lawful to have a congressional slush fund to cover up sexual harassment.

Paying them off was not the crime.

Not reporting the $130,000 hush money as donation to campaign is the election law violation.

Trump used his own money. I know you pointed that out, but with that goes that congress doesn't have to let anyone know. It's probably a crime for them to do that, if people starting digging into the laws. Trump, as a private citizen can use his own money legally. So thats different too.

So what? 130k?..Obama was found guilty of 400K of campaign finance violations and it wasn't even brought up by the media as a bad thing.
Why do you suppose that is???

If it was paid out of the campaign fund, then I agree. If it wasn't, then there's a problem here.

Maybe its just a grammar issue, but, NOT REPORTING HUSH MONEY AS A CAMPAIGN DONATION is a violation????? So if he paid the hush money and did not claim as a tax deductible deduction it is a violation?????
