Not sure if someone has put it this simply but here it goes.
Student loan, the student willingly takes out the loan. The student promises to pay it back.
Ppp was totally different. The government forced businesses to shut down. In essence the government damaged the businesses. Since the government caused the damage to the business, they should cover the damages that they caused.
Two totally different situations.

You are trying to explain logic to someone that wants something for free. They will not listen. You are wasting your time.

I know personally 2 individuals that both received over 3/4 million from their 2 separate companies. They never had to change their normal course of business during the pandemic. One was a collection company and another was an adjuster group. One bought a new boat the other banked it. I on the other hand didn’t file nor did my immediate family members. The 2 that collected were democrats of course

How come student loans isn’t ok but ppp is?
When the government forces people to attend college like they forced businesses to shut down, then I'll be o.k. forgiving college debt too.

Just to set the record straight, the TARP loans the government forced many banks to take, were paid back.
The auto bailout, from Obama, wasn't paid back.

Unless I read this wrong it ain't paid back yet, 700 billion was given out, and 444 billion was paid back
There were authorized to disperse/loan out $700 billion. They didn't diperse that amount. It was only $427 billion. $442 billion has been paid back.
"The May 2015 report of the TARP to Congress stated that $427.1 billion had been disbursed, total proceeds by April 30, 2015 were $441.8 billion, exceeding disbursements by $14.1 billion, though this included $17.7 billion in non-TARP AIG shares."

Having a business fail is normal as well no? Just like there are dumb students, there are businesses that deserve to close
The government passed laws that PREVENTED THE BUSINESS from opening its doors.
Why is this so hard for you to understand?
The student has a choice to save money and then go to college. Or not go at all.
The business owner would be arrested if he opened his doors during COVID.

Maybe Trump shouldn't have let the government shutdown and ppp wouldn't be needed.
If Biden didn't push the student loan forgiveness repubs would be for it. Don't believe me then why did they come out with their own forgiveness plan?

You have to be really dumb to think one has anything to do with the other.

Without PPP, the unemployment rate would have probably been 30-50%…almost overnight.
PPP had to be used for payroll (mostly). The money went to employees.

Go start a business and then have the government tell you to sit home and go broke and get back to me...
One loan is something you choose to apply for so that you can attend a school you can't afford, or are just too lazy to work to attend, the other loan is something that was to save business owners, who paid off their student loans honestly, or never went to college, from losing everything their family depended on and their entire future.
They are not in any way the same.
