Elon's arraignments are 100% made by him, not a court.

Why do you think the federal gov't is responsible for marriages, divorce, and custody issues?

when implemented poorly, child support can absolutely violate civil rights. We've seen cases where support obligations are set so high they destroy someone's ability to survive financially, with jail time as a threat for nonpayment. That’s debtor’s prison by another name, and it flies in the face of equal protection under the law.

So yeah, when states get it wrong, there’s every reason for federal oversight — just like with voting rights, education access, or yes, even minimum wage

Bro if a man can’t handle child support then don’t have kids.

If anything child support should be increased. It has the added benefit of making sure children are cared for, while also discouraging having children out of wedlock.

The law already requires the money to be used for the children’s benefit.

So, a father that’s a billionaire should pay the exact same as someone on welfare?

Did you actually think this through???
While I agree with your statement, I do not think child support is the same as spousal support. It seems like a whole lot of "child support" never gets to the child. There are a bunch of single moms, unemployed, living very well off of taking a dick and spitting out a kid. The NFL and NBA are prime examples. Hell, my ex got a fully loaded SUV in our divorce. Somehow she need a BMW Z3 just to get by as a single mom.

Only problem is, most of the time child support isn’t used on the children. There are a lot of good dads out there that couldn’t get 50/50 that pay out the a*s to a mom that uses the money to support her and her new husband’s lifestyle. It’s a broken system that needs to be revamped.

Child support is pretty standard across the board and includes a quotable calculation based off what both parents make, as well as how much physical custody they have. If mom and new husband make decent income, dad’s payment will take that into account.

But you’re not going to convince me a dad can have a kid, expect primary physical custody with the mom, and then complain about having to pay for his children.

Lot of deadbeat dads would love for child support to go away or “be revamped”. It should be increased IMO.

It sounds like you’re thinking of alimony.

This isn't what it's about.

The only party who wins in every single divorce is the attorneys. Both political parties are more or less controlled by lobbyists and attorneys.

You have to make the higher earners (men) think they have to spend big money fighting the spouse for custody, rights, child support, etc.

Divorce is more or less guaranteed income for lots of attorneys who otherwise wouldn't have any.

Keep it messy = keep attorneys fed.

Fight for 50-50 custody and be a dad as many days a month as you can - like I did - and the court will take that into account.

This is truth and every man contemplating divorce needs to understand that the clock starts ticking the second you separate. Judges will rule on custody based on the living arrangements of the children after separation.

Too many men give in to the wife and agree that the kids should live in the family home and only visit dad occasionally. This just fortifies you losing custody. As a father, if you move out, move into an apartment, home, etc that has bedrooms for your kids and insist that they live with you 50% of the time.

Wrong my friend. Mom and new husband and the home they make has absolutely nothing to do with what dad pays in child support. As long as mom isn’t showing the income. And most show zero income so they can be assigned a minimum wage income to get more money from dad. Mom and new husband can be living in a million dollar home driving 100k cars and dad can be living from pillar to post and he has to pay the same thing. Why should a good dad have to pay for the children at his house and mom’s million dollar house helping to prop up the lifestyle her and the new husband have created together? You sound ignorant when you say a dad should want to support his children. That’s the whole point…the money isn’t going to the children. Dad wants money going to the children but mom spends it on her lifestyle. It’s a broken system. There should me measures in place to insure the money is going to the children. Standard custody shouldn’t be 60/40 in favor of the mom. It should be 50/50 unless the father is unfit. Good, hard working dads are getting screwed. Not only monetarily but with the amount of time they get to spend with their children. The Only way to fight it is to spend a fortune being drug through the family law court at a deficit because he isn’t the mom. It’s gross.

That one was still going up when it cleared the fence. Knocking one that far out of the park should be illegal.
