re: What's Going on in New York City?

Mine is an exaggerated comment mostly about the humorous observation of the hurried earbud people. One of those random observations, but ironically accurate, relatively speaking.
I gallivant around lower Manhattan, head up lower mid a little, say hi to Trump Tower, and ease on up the east side right now if I could.

Lol. An Alabama fan, who probably lives in Alabama, refering to NYC as a “shithole”. It don’t get much more comical than that. Any more humor you care to entertain us with?
From a poster calling himself coonasswhodat. Even funnier.

I don't like Alabama at all, but I would choose spending time in bumfrick, Alabama 100 times out of 100 over going to NYC for any reason, ever.
Maybe if Prez the Donald were to invite me to Trump tower. That is literally the only reason I would go there.

And Harlem is still part of Manhattan. Same with Alphabet City.
Shitty areas still exist even in nice boroughs. Just because you don't head out from the main tourist areas doesn't mean there aren't some real shitholes in Manhattan.

Manhattan privilege is like white privilege?

I used to care when I lived near there but not anymore.

A police union that actually stands up for itself and isn’t afraid to call out the Mayor for identity politics?
Man, that must be nice. I bet those guys even get paid a fair market value for a cop in that region.
I bet that Union wouldn’t settle for a pay study with no action a year after it was released.
Shooters shoot.
Must. Be. Nice.

Alabama's a pretty damn sweet state actually. JMO of course. Don't tell anyone I said it.
The raunchy beauty of the Alabama Gulf coast, on up to the beauty of the north end foothills. Now, the in between, I'll pass.

“These traitorous cops need to shut up, do their job, obey orders, and enforce the law. They don’t make the laws and can’t just choose which laws to enforce.” - Bootlickers

It would be higher on my list of destinations than NYC, but still very low on the list in general.
There's probably 15 or 20 states I would choose to go to before I chose Alabama.
Let's see...
North Carolina, Tennessee, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii, upstate New York, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, and then Alabama. And even then I'd probably just stay here in NWA and vacation on the river somewhere.

Actually this is 100% false, most of them live in Long Island and didn’t vote for Deblasio and hate his guts
And some even live in New Jersey.

I'm with ya. I probably should've qualified that with "given the somewhat easy drive from north Louisiana"....

I hear ya. I usually trek my way through Alabama when I'm headed East. It's not too bad a place.

Good looking area itself.
You forgot Idaho on list. I bet central California coast, especially Big Sur area is splendid as well.

That's right. Idaho would be higher on the list too.
What I've seen of California (not enough) is very nice. Keep in mind though, I refuse to step foot in the cities. There is a good chance that if I ever visited San Fransisco it would ruin me on the entire state.

am not, I am referring to New York City!
Congrats. I'm just telling you how the term is used locally. If someone says they live in the city, they're not talking about Queens or Staten Island
Nobody from Brooklyn would say they lived in NYC unless they were talking to a foreigner

Back the badge, obey the thin blue line! Real heroes like these obey orders and enforce all laws. These thugs threatening the mayor are thugs.

Then they have changed their residency laws for NYPD.
Old ones were that the cops had to live in the city limits unless you were a transit cop.
That's been the case since the mid-1970s (dad is retired NYPD), and the transit cops were a different agency until around 1995.

This reminds me. I saw the acting Secretary of DHS say the other day that NY residents will no longer be eligible for TSA Pre and Global Entry.
Apparently the state issues IDs to illegals and blocked access to their database from the feds. So DHS said they can't do proper bg checks for NY citizens.
