It's a manipulation.
If multiple senators ask about sexual items and then one, after the ground has been prepped, gets aggressive with it the perception to the audience is that there must be something to it.
It's the "if there's smoke there's fire" manipulation. In this case it is a manipulation simply because it is a coordinated effort.
Look at it this way, if they had any evidence at all it would be on full display. Why would they sit on it.
It also doubles as a smoke signal to any other Marxist fellow travelers to step up and give false testimony if they are so inclined.

I agree that she was hired on her identity, but she is reasonably intelligent. Sotomayor is not a smart person. She is the true DEI horror story. Promoted FAR above her ability to function. If she had chosen medical school, I have no doubt people would be dead.
