Is this the new scapegoat of the left to cover up their crimes while screaming about Trump? I’ve been hearing this word a lot lately when they’re confronted of their favorite politicians doing the same thing that they accuse Trump of, hence showing their hypocrisy.

Hypocrites don't like their hypocrisy exposed and discussed.

Hypocrisy magically becomes whataboutism upon the transition to a Republican president from a Democrat.

It's the left's scapegoat to ignore history when convenient.

I said this months ago

Whataboutism is code for "stop pointing out how hypocritical we are for getting pissed when Republicans do the same things Democrats have been doing for years"

Its not just the left dude. The right is so full of whataboutism right now during these times. It's human nature, it's not political. Its just being used as a political gotcha. People just love to point the fingers at anyone but themselves.

When you use a "whataboutism" type argument, you are most likely exposing yourself as a hypocrite as well

It isn't difficult to understand.

Me: "Trump did this. This is bad."
You: "But whattabout that time Obama did this too?"
Me: "Yeah, that was bad too."

You are exposing your own hypocrisy by justifying Trump's actions by actions that you previously disagreed with.

Stupid term for denying their hypocrisy that needs to be called out every time it’s used.

My favorite is the:

"Defend Donald Trump's actions, but don't say anything about Obama, or Hillary, or the Democrats, or History, or Life, or the World, or Logic or Words"

I think the point by reasonable people is that just because someone else did something bad doesn’t mean we should condone someone else doing something bad.

The media is full of hypocrisy. Not sure why you feel the need to continue to argue as if I don't agree with that.

And it's kinda funny that you are making a "whattaboutism" in this thread.

Me: *gives example of whattaboutism you don't like
You: "but whattabout the media!!!"
Me" "yeah the media are hypocrites too"
