No it isn't. It would do nothing to deter China, nor prevent them from making war on Taiwan. Not to mention that it would be a monumentally stupid strategy for Taiwan to take. Want to know how you get nuclear strikes on Taipei?

We send planes and ships to respond, only for them to join the Chinese forces against Taiwan upon arrival. China owns most of our politicians on both sides of the aisle.

If the Japanese take a hand, and I see no reason they wouldn’t, it doesn’t take much imagination to see they move higher on Chinas list of “they’re next”s. If that happens I don’t think even Brandon would be able to accept enough Chinese bribes to stay out of it.
If we get involved the 3GD should be an initial strike target. Some of you seem to forget that war is about making your enemy quit before you have to kill them all. That’s a blow that would be crippling.
Give the UN the rigid digit salute and tell them to fight or shut up.

Geographic Combatant Commands are specifically tied to a region. All of the others you mentioned are enabling commands.

I think China would take heavy losses to take over Taiwan. A fortified island that is mostly mountains will be hard to penetrate.

The US Military considers them all Combatant Commands. Some of them are Geographic, and the ones I listed are Functional.

I hope Taiwan nukes the Three Gorges Dam. But knowing ChiComs boy (that be Slo Joe Xiden) he'd probably supply the Chang Changs with Iron Dome Missles.
Any doubt Joe Xiden isn't on the ChiCom payroll was eliminated when Plugs reneged (earlier this week) on Taiwans right to exist after that meeting with his "old friend Xi Jinping".

You could even sign an EO eliminating the requirement that you register as a representative of a foreign government.
