Just noticed this. Is this how you think it works?

I don't think that there's anything publically known that draws a straight line.

Cohen is likely a subject of the investigation likely with regard to his part in the Artemenko peace plan/sanctions relief, trying to line up Kremlin supportVTB bank funding for Trump Tower Moscow during the campaign, etc. Also, Mueller is generally looking into foreign money in the campaign (UAE dollars, Russian $ to the NRA, etc). Cohen has worked as much as a deal-facilitator as a lawyer for Trump and his wife is Ukrainian. He's bought blocks of condos in Trump Tower and resold them. There have been questions for years about Russians buying Trump condos for purposes of money laundering. The LLC he used to pay stormy might be one of many questionable ones coming up for Mueller.

You are my favorite, Doc. One day, after Mueller's letter to the AG that the investigation is over and Trump is squeaky clean, we can grab a beer.

Oh....there are some people in your office....

The problem with the Special Counsel provision is that it allows the Special Counsel to operate with very little checks and balances and allows him/her to go on special tangents that would otherwise not be investigated and has no relation to the original matter like .....Ken Starr and Fitzgerald.

When it was basically proven that Whitewater was a land deal that went bad but was otherwise arms length wit no shennanigans, Kenneth Starr should have wrapped things up and said, " That's it, I'm going to Baylor to help facilitate rapists on the football team." Instead he takes a referral in a civil case in a state court and blows it up. Fitzgerald decided on his own to expand the scope of the investigation to get Scooter Libby who other than misremembering some dates did nothing wrong. Richard Armitage leaked to the press and got off with nary a slap on the wrist

The SC almost operates as a 4th branch of the government...last I checked, the Constitution only provides for three

Is Special Prosecutor Devin Nunes writing to AG Scott Pruitt you're talking about?

And of course.

Oh, by the way, did you see the Times story yesterday about the Trump tried to fire Mueller again in December after the story came out about subpoenas to Deutschebank?

quote:

In early December, President Trump, furious over news reports about a new round of subpoenas from the office of the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, told advisers in no uncertain terms that Mr. Mueller’s investigation had to be shut down.

The president’s anger was fueled by reports that the subpoenas were for obtaining information about his business dealings with Deutsche Bank, according to interviews with eight White House officials, people close to the president and others familiar with the episode. To Mr. Trump, the subpoenas suggested that Mr. Mueller had expanded the investigation in a way that crossed the “red line” he had set last year in an interview with The New York Times.

In the hours that followed Mr. Trump’s initial anger over the Deutsche Bank reports, his lawyers and advisers worked quickly to learn about the subpoenas, and ultimately were told by Mr. Mueller’s office that the reports were not accurate, leading the president to back down.

Didn't even need to be said. Of course that is what I mean.

That's a bombshell of a story. Who is the source?

What's meta about this is that you and I argued about the likely veracity of the original story based on its anonymous sourcing.

I don't believe you hold your position on the sourcing of all these stories in good faith, but you're welcome to it.

How does passing it off accomplish that? Moron

Mueller only deals with Russia. Anything else is passed on.

This leaves a bunch of morons with no foundation to the “witch hunt” argument.

See how simple that was?

Manafort was indicted for financial crimes when working with the Podestas for the Ukraine. What did that have to do with Russia?

Whatever Rosey gave him the authority to investigate, which apparently is very broad, is what it is

This may be, but it is non-responsive to my question. What did Manaforts financial crimes regarding the Podestas and the Ukraine in 2014 have to do with Russia meddling in the election?

Learn to spell his name.

I spell it Muller because he does not deserve to have his name spelled correctly. His continuation of wasting tax payer dollars on an investigation that is already over is unpatriotic at best and treasonous at worst.
He is attempting to oust a duly elected president. This is a treasonous act. His whole team should be removed immediately.
