What was Muller investigating?

What was Muller investigating that lead him to hand over info so Trump's lawyer would be raided?
There is nothing in Muller's investigation that would lead to Trumps lawyer unless it was more false allegations like the Russia dossier.
Muller's investigation was based on a fake dossier.
I'm sure this second investigation in NY is based on more fake allegations.
Only Deep State people think the Muller investigation needs to continue. Muller is milking America for millions and he knows he has nothing on Trump. How many more states will Muller get to start other investigations into Trump?

Trump. He is investigating a person, not a crime that a person may or may not have committed.

They have been fishing the whole time. Looking for anything. I guarantee they dug up the whole Stormy business and then got to her and started leaking to the media. This was to set up public opinion so that when they went after the lawyer, they would get less blowback.

(c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters."{
In other words, if he finds any unlawful activity while he is investigating, he has authority to act.

This is pretty common knowledge. I know you think you are super smart, but you are answering a question that wasn't asked.
The question was, what would he have been investigating that led to finding this particular alleged unlawful activity? How did this issue arise directly from the investigation into Russia?
Also...why did he pass it off to SDNY if he has authority to investigate it?
