Presupposing Christ actually wants you, of course.

That question has already been answered, as stated in the verse below. The only question remaining is, do you want Christ ?

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I dont know. And the older I get, the more comfortable I 'am with I dont know. That doesnt mean I dont live with a purpose...which is to be there to help my children ,loved ones, and neighbors for as long as I'm capable.

My old boss when I was in high school used to say "you do what's right, do the best you can, and leave the rest up to divine intervention." I kind of chuckled at that at the time, but after going through my own struggle with that question, I realized he was more or less right, as long as you can find your own purpose in life. What that purpose is, is up to you to find.

Seems odd that our meaning is to validate the glorification of an omnipotent creator.

I see my “meaning” as contributing to a society that ensures a future for our species.

My purpose is to have as many enjoyable experiences as possible through responding to my needs and desires.

(please see Biblical support below)

Jesus wants his followers to serve him by serving others (Proverbs 14:31). We live NOT for this world, but for the world to come (Matthew 13:44). We look NOT for the redemption of this evil and wicked world but, rather, the return of Christ. The world, which is ruled by Satan (with some restraints from the Holy Spirit), is NOT of God (1 John 5:19). Its message is exactly as you said, to seek one's own pleasures and gratifications and that's exactly what most of the world does. Followers of Jesus are given a different message - to "deny themselves" (Matthew 16:24).

Essentially, Christians are instructed to "enter by the narrow gate" (Matthew 7:13-14) which otherwise means to live Godly lives that are pleasing to God as opposed to the "easy" life (do whatever you want), to which most of the world subscribes.

Satan will eventually be destroyed (Revelation 20:10), along with his dark angels, demons, and even this universe and our world. It will be replaced by a new world (Revelation 21:1) that is free of sin and unGodly people.

Proverbs 14:31
English Standard Version
31 Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Matthew 13:44
English Standard Version
The Parable of the Hidden Treasure
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

1 John 5:19
English Standard Version
19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Matthew 16:24
English Standard Version
Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Matthew 7:13-14
English Standard Version
13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy[a] that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Revelation 20:10
English Standard Version
10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Revelation 21:1
English Standard Version
The New Heaven and the New Earth
21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

Life is a trip from point B to point D. Having a personal relationship with Jesus determines what happens after point D.

Amen, Timmy Tiger. And that's why we must plant seeds and then hope that the Holy Spirit will open the minds and hearts of unbelievers that are genuinely seeking Christ.

Matthew 7:7
English Standard Version
Ask, and It Will Be Given
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

This is really difficult to do. We're all born into sin and live in Satan's world. I wish that I could say that I always keep his word, but I don't. I certainly believe in Jesus and in his word, even if I don't always keep his word.

There is no inherent meaning, unless simply to appreciate it. We just are. I appreciate the religious angle, for sure though. Just giving my $0.02 opinion.

The universe itself at the beginning of what we perceive as "time" didn't have life. On a long enough timeline, sentient life was one of the things that it came up with. It made itself self-aware through our eyes (and whatever else is out there). Pretty wild.

That's what Jesus instructs us to do. It's my personal belief that many non-Christians WILL be saved because they have lived their lives in ways that were pleasing to him and are, essentially, Godly people. Some of my Christian brothers and sisters disagree with that belief but that's ok. None of us have all (or even "many") of the answers to everything.

Matthew 22:34-40
English Standard Version
The Great Commandment
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

One of my theology professors, who taught a course on the Parables of Jesus, told us on the last day of class that he believed even an atheist could be a Christian. He was a former Jesuit and as you may know they think, well differently. That always stuck with me though and I reflect on that class often even I myself am an agnostic.

I don't believe that a lack of belief necessarily equates to rejection of Christ. The Bible tells us that faith is a GIFT from God and is NOT of our own doing. It borders on arrogance to believe that only believers will go to Heaven. Nonbelievers will be judged by Christ (Revelation 20:11-15). I believe that MANY will be amazed to learn that Jesus is REAL and will be saved. Of course, the ultimate fate of everyone is up to Jesus and to Jesus alone. The Bible also tells us that, on that day of judgment, there will be much "gnashing of the teeth" (Luke 13:28), which presumably refers to people who rejected Christ and/or his commandments and who were cast out.

Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Luke 13:28
English Standard Version
28 In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out.

Amen. Let's also remember that our creator will reward his followers with gifts that are beyond our comprehension.

6 On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.

No, 42 is the answer to The Great Question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

The problem is Deep Thought failed to provide its programmers with the question itself.
