Watched it with my kids several weeks ago, didn’t see anything that really stuck out to me. They didn’t get up from watching the movie and tell me that slavery was a great thing, and why don’t we still have it. What gives?

Was the slavery depiction in the Ten Commandments in poor taste as well?

It supposedly perpetuates a myth of a happy slave-holding south.

I doubt any of the people complaining about Song Of The South or Gone With The Wind have actually watched the movie.

Is Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby in that one?

Still have an Uncle Remus book with lots of stories in it.

You don't erase history. These things happened and learning from them will help us in the future.

Why are we destroying the most powerful figures from the past that should help prevent it in the future?

Feelings?
Serious question. I don't understand.

Of the two films you reference in your post, in which movie were the servile people happy about their position?

He’s likely in most Disney movies that involve birds.
It’s ludicrous.

(not to be confused with Ludacris)

For the first time in as many years as I can remember, the tv stations did not play that movie this year.

The story is about a cunning slave (Brer Rabbit) who is constantly fooling his Masters (Brer Bear and Brer Fox). The original story is a masterpiece and if anything portrays blacks in a positive light.
