In what universe were you living where you thought Trump was remotely libertarian?
Its like people are starting to wake up to what they elected. there is nothing libertarian about trump. I guess the fact that he took every side of every position gives some comfort.
obama got about 2 years until his robots started to turn on him, and then it was only at the fringes. trump might only get 6 months.

real impact on immigration would be the head of ICE or maybe HLS, not the AG
Not prestigious enough for a sitting Senator of Sessions tenor.....the first prominent Republican to get on board with Trump.

Ummm, its a huge fricking issue. Its one of the biggest failures in American history. It has cost this country trillions.
People supporting this pick are the ones who will support and rationalize any and every pick Trump makes because they act like Trump can do no wrong.
I'm glad the man won the presidential election. I think he can do some good for this country, particularly on the economy. It is still entirely plausible that he'll say some dumb shite and he'll make some poor nominations, and if he's going to be this man of the people, he should listen to justifiable criticism when it occurs. The criticism of Sessions is legitimate.

It's time to end the war on drugs.

I agree.
Its a drug. So is caffeine and alcohol. There are levels of drugs.
And pot should not be schedule 1 or illegal.

Ok pot heads and criminal sympathizers. I don't care if it becomes legal.
I want my attorney general to enforce the law whether someone is white black Hispanic republican or democrat.

I dont understand why peope are so hung up on pot policy. It is a niche issue. Unless you are a pothead, then I get why it is the number 1 through 10 issue you care about.

MJ was never, ever going to be legalized in Louisiana anyways , so, I don't think any LA based trump supporters should be offended by this appointment

Agree, but that will be incredibly tough with the GOP running the hill in every way and the large amount of life long blue hair congressmen that will never change.

Maybe this is simply a result of giving Sessions his pick of positions based on his strong support of Trump through the primary and general? I hope so.
Giving Sessions his pick of positions based on his early support of Trump is the exact opposite of the "drain the swamp" motto. Trump ran on a platform that he would find the best people for the job, not the people who he owes a political favor.

trump supporters weren't too good at reading signals and actions, instead paying attention to what he said. And then cherry picking.
I am hopeful he drains the swamp. that could be a real positive of his presidency and something I could get behind, but based on his campaign and his actions since his win, I don't think he will accomplish much.

Its been explained in detail in this thread as to why people are "so hung up on it."

You are delusional if you believe this. You don't think that millions and millions of wasted tax payer money towards an absolutely failed endeavor is a legit issue that needs changing?

This comment makes you look dumb.

I was actually a pro-drug libertarian in my college years, then I became an adult.

I don't give two shits about marijuana specifically, but I do see it as a major concern with respect to the federal government infringing upon state rights. Someone earlier likened it to gay marriage - I have no desire to use the right to marry someone of the same sex, but I also understand the issue with a federal ban on gay marriage.
Just because you don't smoke or you have no desire to marry someone from the same sex, it doesn't mean they're irrelevant to you. They're all cut from the same cloth, and eventually they'll come after something that IS important to you.

Framing it as "pro-drug" shows how uniformed you are on the issue.
Is the second amendment "pro-mass murders"?
