Are we seriously going to pre judge whether a AG pick is worth a shite based on weed?

REALLY?

it's a pretty good barometer of how much governmental intrusion a politician wants to have via government

I sincerely hope the President and his cabinet don't have this degree of shortsighted tunnel vision.

Such a SJW alarmist. Step back from the ledge and be glad that we have a straight arrow back where we need to have a straight arrow. Even if, (ohmygodohmygodohmygod) he's to your right.

Look I've been a staunch Trump supporter. I am also a staunch supporter of ending the WoD. Sessions' history on the issue is bleak at best, but I can only hope that the Trump administration will choose to de-prioritize the federal role in the drug war as it concentrates on more pressing issues.

I take it you're not a big fan of the Fourth Amendment? that's why i said earlier, if Sessions is any indication of Trump's choices, his USSC choices may become scary

So you mean an administration that plans on enforcement of laws or ignoring laws?

Marijuana is illegal and the AG is charged with enforcing law not changing law.

With the problems we have weed is what you're worried about?

Jeeezus.

i think most reasonable people realize that this is less about wanting to smoke (i have no desire) and more about realizing how many of those other issues stuff like this underlies. also things like the civil forfeiture thread also going on.

these are things you can use to start to round out a picture of whats expected to come on a wider level.

That's logical, critical thinking. Apparently, that's not very MAGA of you.

he's an authoritarian-type

there is nothing "straight arrow" about him, at least compared to our past few AGs (who were also scary)

So many people in this thread: "Law and order, law and order, law and order (hear that, Brisco?).

Laws change. A true conservative would never support the WOD.

I don't give a frick about pot, either, but this type of news is disturbing to the young libertarian centipedes who supported Trump. I guess this is the bad side of the law and order president deal.

exactly

Sessions is a regressive, authoritarian and Trump made him one of his first picks

from a broad expectation of policy, why do we assume that Trump's admin won't follow suit? if you want to argue it won't, then why nominate Sessions?

I was happy that Christie was cast off. Maybe this is simply a result of giving Sessions his pick of positions based on his strong support of Trump through the primary and general? I hope so.

Seems the best thing would be for the current POTUS to move it off the schedule.

Sessions was chosen because of his stance on immigration. He is Trumps immigration guru. The other shite is, I'm sure negotiable.
