Exactly.

If Trump had decided to pardon the January 6th protestors, he could have done so by issuing a pardon order that named the group of people being pardoned rather than naming each individual protestor. This would have allowed Trump to pardon the protestors without revealing their identities.

It’s the least shocking thing ever that the trump crowd doesn’t know these things and then when confronted with it, ignore button engaged.

Even Trump supporters who’ve been persecuted for being Trump supporters, are Ron’s responsibility,

You cannot make this up.

ETA Maybe they’re Ron supporters now.

“On day one, I will have folks that will get together and look at all these cases, who people are victims of weaponization or political targeting and we will be aggressive at issuing pardons,” DeSantis said in his response.

Interviewer Clay Travis noted that stance could apply “from a grandma who got arrested and prosecuted too much all the way up to, potentially, Trump himself.”

DeSantis replied, “I would say any example of disfavored treatment based on politics or weaponization would be included in that review, no matter how small or how big.”

He has said this a few times. Has Trump even specifically said what he will do and promised pardons? Maybe I missed it.

Looks like you are being asked some questions in this thread. Maybe you should "man up" and answer them.

It’s not worth responding to.

When were the J6 people arrested?

This is called “taking your ball and going home”.

Do you honestly think Carter named every single Vietnam War draft dodger by name when they were pardoned?

Do you honestly believe Lincoln named every member of the confederate army when he offered them a pardon? If so, how long was that pardon?

I missed the clause of the constitution that said the president must wait 2 years after a crime is committed to offer an unconditional pardon.

I never said they had to, I only pointed out what your example showed.

Can you find a non-shitty example?

No, you are not. You start a thread asking about Desantis who has zero authority for any help. He has also said who he would pardon. What more do you want him to do?

You then ignore Trump’s ability to pardon them. He didn’t need a crystal ball to know people would be charged for that. It was obvious. If he didn’t know, then he is too incompetent to take seriously. I don’t believe that about him. I believe he made a political calculation to not do it as it would hurt him. That’s fine. That’s his right. Just don’t act like he didn’t know.

Blanket pardoning everyone on J6 could have pardoned people who deserved prosecution. We're talking about hundreds of people with a wide array of charges.

I can see legal advisors pointing to the can of worms a blanket pardon could create.

Who could have foreseen the abuse of power we are seeing? Most non-violent trespassers should have been at most charged with some minor misdemeanor with a minimal fine. Any violent non-FBI should be charged with vandalism with a higher fine. Once you take out the FBI led rioting, hardly anyone would have been charged.

This is clearly an abuse of power no one, not even President Trump could have foreseen.

It’s almost like he would have had to explicitly exclude certain individuals from that pardon. Such as saying any act of violence is not covered by this pardon. Similar to Lincoln’s pardon that excluded office holders of the Confederate government or persons who had mistreated prisoners.

Just addressed draft dodgers.

Pretty sure Lincoln pardoned specific individuals. A blanket pardon came 2 or 3 years post-Civil War from President Johnson.
