I don't think that the drooling imbeciles on the Left (and they are no less numerous that the drooling imbeciles on the Right) go into an unfriendly environment and stay to fight it out. MOSTLY, it is the brighter end of the "Left" stays here and engages. It is my experience that brighter people are better able to self-regulate and to NOT engage in that sort of unprovoked attack.

Some people are 100% fed up with the left and have no room in their hearts for dialog. They have been isolated, made fun of in the media, pitched as conspiracy theorists or insurrectionists, racists etc etc etc on and on it goes. They've been labeled this in medias, in colleges and universities, online etc. I FULLY understand their rage and zero compromise mentality at this point.
This wasn't always the case. But the last 20 years the left's hate rhetoric and isolationism has been far too effective and enraging.
All that said, yeah, you are going to naturally get people that are pissed and venting on an online forum.

The echo chamber exists within the chamber of one's own brain case - where any idea counter to the ingrained dogma is shunted to ground.

I'll specifically call out BamaAtl, mmcgrath, and SammyTiger who have engaged in this type of behavior. There are many others who I can't remember over the last 9 years.
Now, I've seen them all competently articulate points. But, when they're cornered, and they always are because they're not well-versed in gun rights, they lash out. Always.
