What If MLK Were Alive..Would He Be A Trump Supporter or Hilary?

This question was asked of my by a liberal foil that I spar with on another message board and here was my answer:
Thoughts?
quote:
Are you applying a Men’s point of view based on the 1960’s or 2019?...A lot of men were misogynist in the 60’s that were far worse than Trump but didn’t have the level of scrutiny. As a Christian Pastor, it would be interesting to see if he would chose a party that is anti-religion over a big mouth. Would he chose a president that has seen the largest drop in black unemployment recorded?
Would he vote for Trump over Hillary?....probably..A Supporter? Doubtful.
Thoughts?

He would support Trump's policies. I don't think he would like him personally though.

He’s doing barrel rolls in his grave as the sight of the black community these days.

I look at the men who stood beside King in the sixties and at their political leanings over the years and conclude king would have been an all-in democrat.

I think MLK would be appalled by the prevalence of people judging each other by skin color instead of the content of their character.

I think all of these scenario are dumb. MLK would be a Democrat, finding racism with every breath, ala Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackass.
John F. Kennedy would be the typical northeastern NPC loon, throwing his full support behind the likes of Hillary, Pelosi, and Schumer. He was ideologically no different than his brother Ted.

He would first beat the ever living shite out of Jesse J and Al Sharpton for what they’ve done since his legacy.
He probably wouldn’t like trump but like Jim Brown he would pay him respects to the office and actually talk to him man to man about actual policies that could help.

After winning the Civil Rights movement, instead of returning to the private life of a preacher, he continued his protesting way of life with a shifting to economic issues.
If you want to see how his life would have played out if the arsehole murderer would not have killed him, just study the Reverend Jessie Jackson.
There probably would not be a holiday or roads etc. named after him, because his good works in the Civil Rights struggle would have been tarnished by Jessie like financial shake downs. Also #metoo would not treat MLK kindly.
So to answer your question, he would be 100% all in Hillary!

Are you kidding me? There's no way in hell he would have ever supported Trump. MLK was an avowed socialist. He would have been a Bernie Sanders supporter if anything. Here are some of his quotes about capitalism.
quote:
“I am much more socialistic in my economic theory than capitalistic,” he admitted to his then-girlfriend, Coretta Scott concluding that “capitalism has outlived its usefulness.”
Capitalism “has brought about a system that takes necessities from the masses to give luxuries to the classes,” King wrote in his 1952 letter to Scott. He would echo the sentiment 15 years later in his last book, Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?: “Capitalism has often left a gap of superfluous wealth and abject poverty [and] has created conditions permitting necessities to be taken from the many to give luxuries to the few."
Speaking at a staff retreat of the SCLC in 1966, King said that “something is wrong … with capitalism” and “there must be a better distribution of wealth” in the country. “Maybe,” he suggested, “America must move toward a democratic socialism.”
In Where Do We Go From Here, which calls for “the full emancipation and equality of Negroes and the poor,” King advocates policies in line with a democratic socialist program: a guaranteed annual income, constitutional amendments to secure social and economic equality, and greatly expanded public housing. He endorses the Freedom Budget put forward by socialist activist A. Philip Randolph, which included such policies as a jobs guarantee, a living wage and universal healthcare. He also outlines how economic inequality can circumscribe civil rights. While the wealthy enjoy easy access to lawyers and the courts, “the poor, however, are helpless,” he writes.
In Where Do We Go From Here, King called the victories of the movement up that point in 1967 “a foothold, no more” in the struggle for freedom. Only a campaign to realize economic as well as racial justice could win true equality for African-Americans. In naming his goal, King was unflinching: the “total, direct, and immediate abolition of poverty.”
King was disgusted by the juxtaposition of decadence and destitution in America. We “compress our abundance into the overfed mouths of the middle and upper classes until they gag with superfluity,” he fumed. Quoting social justice advocate Hyman Bookbinder, King wrote that ending poverty in America merely requires demanding that the rich “become even richer at a slower rate.”
For King, the only solution to America’s crisis of poverty was the redistribution of wealth. In a 1961 speech to the Negro American Labor Council, King declared, “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.”

They would destroy him if didn't do exactly that.

To my knowledge, not one of MLK’s close associates has gone GOP. What would lead anyone to believe that he would have developed differently?

The left has made it where MLKJ died for nothing.
Blacks can only govern themselves
Only black lives matter
We murder hundreds of thousands of black babies every year
Blacks murder thousands of other blacks every year
There are college degrees that teach you how to be black
They've destroyed the black family unit
They've destroyed black work ethic
They've destroyed black religious beliefs
Blacks are led to celebrate fine made up African shite instead of Christmas
Instead of a quest for harmony and unity everyone is taught to hate white people
I could go on and on.
Poor Dr King is rolling in his grave.

MLK's Daughter is a fairly moderate democrat - not blue dog, but moderate.
The better question would be what if Malcom X were alive today ... what would he be politically? Thomas Sowell is convinced Malcom X would be Conservative.

Jessie Jackson was with him during his last days. That should tell you what you need to know.

Malcolm X: "All of the countries that are emerging today from under the shackles of colonialism are turning towards socialism. I don't think that's an accident. Most of the countries that were colonial powers were capitalist countries and the last bulwark of capitalism today is America. It's impossible for a white person to believe in capitalism and not believe in racism. You can't have capitalism without racism."

Pretty sure he was a Republican, so probably Trump.
