The purpose of this change in nomenclature is to undercut any Arab claim to sovereignty over territory Israel now holds. It also makes the Palestinians look greedy; they already have a whole loaf and they want another. It implies that while Palestinians should leave Israel alone, they should feel free to make changes in the Hashemite Kingdom. It also suggests that, because Israel has at least as valid a claim to the east bank as the Palestinians do to the west, the granting of the eastern part of Palestine to Arabs represents a form of Zionist generosity. Finally, it implies that the Israelis may be justified in expelling Arabs to Jordan, their true Palestinian patrimony. In this way, the kindred notions of Jordan-is-Palestine and Greater Israel join the demographic and political issues facing Israel today to create the political agenda of the Israeli right.

During Black September massacre the "occupying" Jordanians liquidated over 20,000 native Palestinians in the expulsion of the PLO from their sovereign lands but, that's just Muslim on Muslim crime so it's okay right?

Terrorist hypocrites let's not mention Kuwait and what it did in 2003....

I am fine with Muslims fighting Muslims. It's kinda like the Iron Bowl or Falcons-Panthers.

Black September was caused by several failed assassination attempts on King Hussein of Jordan as well as open acts of defiance such as hijacking multiple airliners, landing them in Jordan, then blowing them up on camera after the passengers were removed.

There's an old saying "If you strike at the king, you better kill him." The PLO failed and the king fricked them up as a result, to the point where the organization relocated to Lebanon.

Yet people think other Arab countries will take people from Gaza in with open arms.

Why is it Jordan's responsibility to take care of Israel's persecuted citizens?

I'm not sure I understand your point. The entire map of that area of the Middle East is a remnant of WWI/WWII. There was no modern state of Israel before 1948.

That would never happen due to huge public backlash, even though other american presidents have done it before in the 80's and 90's/

Have you ever lived around Muslims?

But Sir, according to historical records the modern country of Jordan's sits on Palestine land.

Why have they shifted their attacks currently only on that property occupied by the Israelis?

massive backlash to his other stupid ideas hasn't stopped him, and yes I know some Muslims, most seem like the docile, "I'm just here to work" type, and yet most would be ecstatic to have more Muslims imported into their backyard.

Yea we really need to keep repeating the mistakes of the 80's and 90's, sorry but we don't need any more Muslims or anything else really, in this country.

I'd tend to agree, at least as far as importing them.

They are seeing the fruits of one of the last big efforts to do this up in Minnesota, where there is a huge Somali community as part of the Bush and Clinton interventions of the mid-90s.

They have had a bunch of their kids end up back in Somalia as terrorists as well as the large group of Somali cab drivers in the area attempting to force passengers to follow their religious practices by forbidding them to bring pork, alcohol, or dogs, even service animals, into their cabs.

There was no modern state of anything before the early 1920's. It was all part of the Ottoman Empire.

The region referred to as "Palestine" was split between an Arab state and Jewish state.

I don't understand why it is so difficult to understand that Palestinians are not Jordanians, Lebanese, Syrian, or Egyptian.

Just because they are Arab, they can easily take up residence in Jordan? Lebanon? Syria? Egypt? What's the difference, they all like falafel?

Call them what you want, but if you and your family can trace thousands of years of roots in Texas, being uprooted to Mississippi should be the same thing? Since we all like fried chicken?

The disregarded FACT is, during the 1948 war Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and especially Jordan - they all took on hundreds of thousands of fleeing Palestinians. People who were farmers, carpenters, etc with no weapons or means to defend themselves.

My father survived the "1948 War," and saw his family members hanging from trees, blown to pieces, beaten, and murdered. It was a hostile take over. There was nothing just about it.

Jordan, Palestine, Trans-Jordan, Israel - all just names for the Holy Land - where Arabs lost their right to live.

Two constants in this region:

1. Israel continues it ethnic cleansing and settling in land that isn't theirs.

2. Hamas & other radical militant groups are uncompromising in their stance toward Israel.

Both are getting what they have wrought. The hatred on both sides continues to build and I fear that there will be a self-fulfilling prophecy which ends in genocide for one or the other.

The creation of Israel as a Zionist state was a mistake as is evidenced by the chronic state of war that Israel & her neighbors exist with.
