Either CNN purposely pushed a false narrative in an attempt to hurt Trump or they just aren't competent enough to check their stories.

Considering that CNN's article never claimed that anything in the dossier was true, merely that it exists and the IC mentioned it to Trump and Obama, I'd say that your hypo would back up the CNN report.

CNN has at least on occassion talked about inconvenient truths. BuzzFeed never has. It's just "frick cis-white men, especially if they're conservative". That's their narrative and they'll say anything to support that claim.

CNN made it clear that the dossier wasn't confirmed as true. That's why they didn't even publish the dossier.

I never saw the original CNN report on the dossier. Did CNN say it was legit or just that it exists and was part of the briefing? I'm genuinely curious.

But he, like a lot of other people, miss the forest for the trees.
Trump is a troll. The best we've ever seen in our lifetime. About 25% (my estimate) of the population realizes this. Reagan was a troll. Albeit, different personality and different style. One was very effective. This remains to be seen about Trump. I speculate he will be hugely effective as well.
A large portion of the 75% include left wing liberals, media types, alleged "principled" conservatives etc. Part of what they're missing is that events like this only help Donald Trump, not hurt him. And in my opinion, help this country.
I hope they never figure it out. If you take a look at the upcoming midterm elections (yes, I'm already looking at the numbers, inside the numbers, and my own methodologies, not some statisticians) not only isn't it favorable to Dems, it's going to get worse if they keep this up.

Wait, who has stepped forward and said that the dossier is false? It sounds improbable, but unverified is not the same thing as false.

It is historic. Results remain to be seen. And the possibility exists my judgement was incorrect. Notwithstanding the one guy on here that claims I was late to the Trump train, I've been onboard since I fist met him in 2011. The first time to my knowledge he seriously considered running for POTUS.
Because of where I live, and I'm also involved, I get to meet a lot of them. In my lifetime I've met three that had "it". Three out of almost every R caucus candidate, and sever D caucus candidates since I was 16 years old. That's a lot of potential party POTUS nominees.

I just wonder how stupid people were who believed this.
First off it was BuzzFeed, which right from the source there's an 90% that at least some of it is false. Then we get to the grammatical errors, which then puts it to 99%. And finally we get bed pissing and Hentai, which would put it at 100%.
