If I'm a cop, I'm not exactly eager to go to work. What happens if they all say "frick it" and go on strike? I have to believe that idea has been quietly floated by some people in the major market ranks of FOP chapters hither and yon. What would happen at that point?

I'm not trolling for ideological bullshite, I mean what do you believe would happen sociologically at that point.

New York cops should go on strike, but they are too proud and love their city and take their oath seriously. So, they wouldn't do it at this time. However, when your mayor dislikes you, wants to charge your for fighting back while in combat on the streets and his own daughter is arrested fighting against you.....NY gov and mayor need to be removed from office, thrown in jail and then sued till the end of time.

What would happen? That's when you get martial law.

If the cops go on “blue flu”, then shite continues on as normal but cops aren’t in the middle of this mess.

I wouldn’t like it but I would understand it given that the cops aren’t being given the ability to respond by the state and local politicians.

Why does that make him a coward? It's true. I mean, for the cops who actually have an ounce of humanity that is. I mean, nobody with any empathy in their body is happy with what's happening.

I wouldn't be eager to go to work right now if I were a cop either. I would still go to work, mind you, but I wouldn't be looking forward to it.

What happens is responsible citizens blockade the inner-city while the inner cities burn.

A few blockaders get hurt. A few more rioters get hurt trying to break out, but the real shame will be the good people in the inner-city who just want to live their life who will bear the brunt of the lawlessness.

CNN talks a big game until they realize there is nothing stopping the rioters this time and the building burns.

You signed up for a job that is inherently dangerous and you received compensation for that job. Now, when shite turns bad and it gets tough, you are gonna walk away?

Coward.

I see it differently. Look, we have criminal politicians -- a candidate for POTUS for God's sakes -- out there basically showing support for these rioters.

These people are being manipulated. They believe that what they're doing is a good thing.

If I'm a cop, I'm not looking forward to having to crack down on these people. It's dangerous for starters (the danger isn't so much the act of cracking down on someone, but emboldening others by doing so and ultimately making matters worse), but they're also not getting any support from their leaders. Their leaders are actually going on TV and supporting the protesters!

This doesn't make someone a coward. This makes someone have a conscience.

It's gonna have to be the military that fixes this. What we need is a strong leader who says "enough is enough" and sends in the troops. And that's an extremely tough decision for anyone to make. Which is why I'm glad we have a tough man in the Oval Office.

For awhile I was hoping we could get this fixed without the military, but it's becoming more apparent that is what is gonna have to happen.

The cops are between a rock and a hard place here.

So cops are a special class of worker not allowed to strike for improved working conditions?
