Trump bullshite aside....
Abbot fricked up a number of things here.
He let HB1 take over areas
He caved to data centers
He threw a two year temper tantrum to get vouchers passed to help a few of his key donors
He has continually fricked over public schools (my property taxes have skyrocketed but the school are not seeing that money, since 2019 he has barely increased the funding to the schools).
Speaking of property taxes, he has continually talked about reform there for years, yet never done anything about it.
And Paxton....I mean where do you start? His stench rubbed off on the rest of the ballot.
This reminds me of how John Bell edwards got elected in Louisiana.
The Texas GOP needs to learn to actually try and nominate decent human beings. The mindset that having an R by your name just gets you elected doesn't hold water here any more.
They got a warning sign years ago when Ted Cruz narrowly beat Beto. They didn't learn from it.

I did not put this position forward. But the democrats weren’t the ones in charge the past two years.
I think the democrats will undoubtedly do nothing to make things more affordable and will end up making things less affordable as they always do.
But the right has no one to blame but ourselves for what happened here tonight.

Yeah, I've been telling people for years... Just 15 or so years ago, hearing a foreign language spoken when I was out shopping or in public was such a rarity it would make me turn my head in curiosity. Nowadays, I go to the same locales, and probably 60% of the voices I hear are speaking a foreign tongue. I've become a stranger in my own land.
Texas, like America as a whole, has been invaded. No longer a shared culture or society. More of a disparate, third-world jungle of scroungers, and lowered standards. I expect to start seeing the kind of chaos we've been seeing in Europe before too long.
