JFK and LBJ were.

Poor people need opportunity, not handouts.

so much easier to play the victim, get stuff handed to you, and complain that you're not getting enough, until more is given. its been working....no, they're not living lavishly, or even nicely, but they're content with the shitholes they live because they do nothing for a lot. (whites and blacks)

I worked for 40 years serving those with serious and chronic mental illnesses. Well over 99% of those i served relied on taxpayer funded Medicaid.

The Louisiana Republican led legislature just voted to slash the budget of the Office of Behavioral Heath by 24%. That will prevent La from drawing down a federal match of Medicaid dollars so the total cut will be close to $400M.

Republican Gov Bobby Jindal closed all of the public funded state psychiatric hospitals. He believed the private sector would step in and do an even better job. That hasn’t happened.

So, from that narrow view point, Democratic policy is much more favorable to those adults and youth with serious mental illnesses than Republican policies have been.

I’d argue that it’s much more than just a narrow view point. It’s a highly dishonest one as well because the Louisiana Constitution severely limited cuts he could make to funding, and so that left it to cutting education and/or health and hospitals, as the rest was off limits to cuts, so he was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t.

Louisiana is podunk and always will be because of the culture in place here, a culture of dependency and a lack of industry outside of fossil fuels and chemical plants.

What is most incredulous about a voter in Louisiana voting Democrat is they are supporting the very party that wants to rid this state of its very own life blood from oil and natural gas. The greener we go and the further we move from fossil fuels in this country the poorer and poorer this state will become, and Louisiana Democrats are working to make sure that happens, supporting their own demise.

skyrocketing inflation with no end in sight because they keep printing more money and driving the value of the dollar into the gutter, a shite housing market, and higher cost for everything like child care, etc.
Wow. I'm wondering what exactly you think this has to do with political parties?

R's: lower taxes for rich people and drive up the deficit. Also try to blame everything on non-white males. Have no plans only cultural crises.

D's: drive up the deficit with popular spending. Not quite as racist so non-white males tend to notice.
