quote:

“What can I add that has not already been said?” Kelly said, when asked if he wanted to weigh in on his former boss in light of recent comments made by other former Trump officials. “A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform, or are shot down or seriously wounded in combat, or spend years being tortured as POWs are all ‘suckers’ because ‘there is nothing in it for them.’ A person that did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because ‘it doesn’t look good for me.’ A person who demonstrated open contempt for a Gold Star family – for all Gold Star families – on TV during the 2016 campaign, and rants that our most precious heroes who gave their lives in America’s defense are ‘losers’ and wouldn’t visit their graves in France.

“A person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women,” Kelly continued. “A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action. A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law.

“There is nothing more that can be said,” Kelly concluded. “God help us.”

John Kelly, the longest-serving White House chief of staff for Donald Trump,

He could have maybe refrained from repeating a bunch of stuff that has already been proven to be false? Like the 'suckers' claim? I dunno, seems like nobody comes off looking good here.

He nominated 3 people he knew would overturn Roe v. Wade.....and they did. Something no "real" Republican before him was able to do.

They whipped out John Kelly to spread the same ole lies lies. They are desperate.

Kelly defending Milley who usurped his CiC calling the CCP, while silent on the real criminals Biden and Obama's. Says all that needs to be said.

All of this to protect the MIC. It is sad.

Repeat the lie often enough it becomes the truth.

I have first hand accounts of president Trump with Gold Star families and military and try as they may, they can't change the reality of his record.

They must be really, really worried their BS court cases are falling apart and the more they try to destroy him the stronger Trump gets.

This sounds more like pure panic than anything else.

Trump's biggest mistake was surrounding himself with these back stabbing, bottom feeding pieces of shite. I'm not critical of a lot with him, but his hires were atrocious. I mean, absolutely atrocious.

His 2024 term should kick off him him anointing himself the first truly independent president. Anyone with government experience need not apply.

If Trump was regularly saying these things why did Kelly say something when he was standing next to him?

And like I can believe that Trump isn’t particularly reverent towards the fallen and doesn’t understand military service. But if you collect a string of things he said over several years and then put them all into one paragraph it makes it look like he’s a ranting anti-military mad men instead of an old businessman that’s just saying things. Even the what’s in it for them? Comment looks horrible in the context of other things he said when it sounds like Trump is trying to express how impressed he is with their selflessness, especially given that he’s standing in front of the grave of Kelly’s son. If he did mean it as what a dope, Kelly should have slugged him there, no matter who he is

Why is everyone who worked for him this way? I'm not completely anti Trump, but he is not innocent in this. When everyone around you is an a-hole, you're the a-hole.

He was amongst sheep in wolves’ clothing in the Swamp. Hopefully he learned his lesson and will seek out proven patriots in 2024.

Edit : Wolves / sheep’s . Damn that was bad , had 3 things going on at one time when I posted

Past glory does not forgive present sin.

Whatever John McCain might have done in the military doesn't forgive his selfish, traitorous bullzhit career in Politics.

I think he deserves grace in truly not knowing the DC regime and what its capable of and making people do. You have to understand there are folks who have lived a lifetime in some of these positions.

So you may have trust in people, but ultimately, what happens when the DC Cabal comes offering something greater? Or telling some of these folks their livelyhoods in DC politics could be squashed forever?

The big difference is that Trump has survived Russian Collusion and Ukraine Scandal. Both which were designed to remove him from power.
Trump had people during those instances that went above and beyond to help him knowing their carers could be jeopardized.
Trump has every single truth on Crossfire Hurricane and the receipts.

He is far better prepared for 2024 than he was in 2016. I have zero concerns on any person he would choose for this time around. He would shitcan any Vindman types day one.

As Iraq was preparing for parliamentary elections in late 2017, McMaster was worried about any meddling from Iran and asked the Pentagon to give options to counter such a move.

A former McMaster aide said Mattis later sent a Pentagon official to the White House without any options in hand.

“I asked him what happened to the options,” the former aide told The New Yorker. “He told me, ‘We resisted those.’ You could feel everyone in the meeting go, ‘Excuse me?'”

While there’s truth to that, most of the people in his inner circle weren’t Swamp things. One of his problems because of the never trumpets and the pussygate conservatives is that Trump arrived with a bunch of outsiders, who theoretically should have been loyal to him. However, a lot of them saw his brand as a way to build their careers or get back in the limelight after their careers had wound down. I think if he had more professionals by his side he would have accomplished more. Instead he had most of the pros in both parties gunning for him and was surrounded by a lot of people who either didn’t know how to handle that pressure or were happy to get publicity for switching sides the moment they stopped working for him and continue making money that way

He's still backing Kevin McCarthy.
